This is a place our innkeeper recommended years ago. We have gone every year since. Small, 30 seats orvso, husband and wife, and classic and classical french food. Bring cash, they take dollars and American express, but the limited menu is limited only in the number of choices not in the quality of the food, it's presentation, or the service.... More

So why am I writing this when I should be keeping it a secret so I can always get a table. It's a small intimate casual setting, almost like dining in someone's home. We often find ourselves chatting with other guests sitting at the next table. The conversation usually centers around the fantastic, fresh, delicious food being served. The service... More

I ordered the special appetizer - supposedly warm duck foie with port wine. It was room temperature, dry, overlooked, and if there was port somewhere in the dish, it might have been on the dressing on the spinach, because the liver (can't bring myself to call it foie) was bone dry. The $12 green salad was a handful of greens... More

Peddlers is a French bistro, not a grill. It is small, intimate and charming. Since we have been coming to Cape Cod, it is still the best. A little off the beaten track, but worth it :)

I last reviewed Peddlers in June of 2009, and returned this month at the insistence of the friends we were dining with. To begin with, separate checks are still a no-no (although they did splint the check three ways on three separate AmEX cards - the only one that is accepted, as well as cash). The room seemed a bit... More

Eclectic kind of place off the beaten path but not far off. Even when you drive by on the side street on which it resides you may miss it. There is a sign out front but it is often covered by flowers. The menu is on the blackboard and is generally the same most of the time. Great french comfort... More

The palce is not open every day, just Friday and Saturday after Labor day apparently. But if they are open and you are in or near Brewster, make the effort to get there. Duringteh season they can be crowded, the wait long, but worth it, and they may close before you can get in. Off season is a better bet... More

Although the food was generally very good, many of the prices will make you blanch! We ordered the cheese plate appetizer for 2, three different cheeses served unimaginatively but with a very good marmalade for $22. (I also noticed a mussels dish- appetizer for one- at $29!) The duck was very tender and flavorful at $42 and the spaghetti Bolognese... More

It started with a hard to read lawn sign covered by shrubbery that should have been trimmed back; looked like "ooler's." We had been encouraged to get there early because they get busy & the seating is limited. Both table choices that could accommodate 4 of us were in a air conditioner's draft. And there were no printed menus. The... More

Having been a patron of this restaurant for 15 years, my experience there has been frequent and consistent over the years. Peddlars is owner chef and wife operated. It is not fast food. It is food to be savored with a lovely glass of wine. When we first started going to Peddlars, they focused on Italian food. I ordered the... More
