My family and I went here for lunch yesterday after reading great reviews about the place. My husband had bean burritos, I had chicken tacos, and our daughter had beef tacos. Overall everything was ok but nothing special. We have not found good Mexican food since moving to Massachusetts and had very high hopes for El Sarape.

Food was pretty flavorless, and I was disappointed that the waitress was pretty unhelpful or uninformative about the menu.

El Serape has has one of the best Mexican food menus on the South Shore of Boston. Excellent margaritas. It needs a serious makeover visually. From the outside you might pass it by. Don't do it it has a great dining experience, fro a food perspective.

It's been over a year and a half since I last had a disppointing dinner at El Sarape. Prior to then, my wife and I frequented El Sarape monthly for over 10 years. Recently went on a Monday night. Not very busy, but it took nearly two hours to be seated and served. So, relative to the last visit, the... More

One of the things I love is that it is not a chain. It is real authentic Mexican food. I haven't been there in awhile but have never been disappointed when I have gone. My Mother is Gluten Free and she is able to eat there which is a plus. Best Mexican small restaurant. They took over a small pizza... More

Good food, can be a bit loud in the restaurant. However always a decent meal and good margaritas. Salsa is authentic and staff is accommodating.

Walked into this worn out dive bar with a side restaurant on a lovely Saturday afternoon. Not very clean, host/server was curt and not very friendly. Food was bad by true Mexican standards. Ordered the Carne Asada, yeah, no! Perhaps this way of cooking is catered to the local patronage palate, but this is NOT authentic Mexican food, which should... More

If you can't take a trip to Mexico to indulge in the authentic cuisine, take a special trip to this jewel! You cannot get a better Homemade Sangria and the Margarita's are spectacular! Everything is made from scratch. You can't find a better Queso Asado with delicious chorizo, or their Fajitas de Carni , Burritos, Enchiladas Verde, I could go... More

This place has the real deal in Mexican food. One of the few Mexican rest I will eat at in the Boston area. the space is a bit on the small side but has a full bar and 20 tables for dinner.

Great authentic Mexican Food in a cozy setting. Food is consistently good. The staff is very friendly and some nights there is music. The margaritas are fantastic as well.
