Our first visit to Slaters and the outdoor seating was surprising. Nicely done. Ordered spicy wings, good wings but not spicy or crisp as stated on memu. Pizza has nice thin crust and tasty. The service was extremely slow and disorganized. Waitress seemed losts. We...waited so long for a server to come to our table, we got up and went inside to get our own drinks. Our second visit started out good. We arrived early around 5pm and we were seated quickly and waitress came over within 5 min. We ordered the wings as our app and pizza. Our appetizer arrived with a pizza. The wings were undercooked little seasoning and difficult to eat off the bone. We did not finish them. We ordered a Tuscan pizza. We reveived a different pizza. We waited for a waitress to come back to no avail. We just ate the pizza that was delivered. When she finally came back she never asked if everything was ok. Again extremely poor service. It seemed like a few tables were regulars or family of employees, the waitress was at their table numerous times. Management needs to look at their staff training. It is not likely we will return any time soon. It is to bad the food is good and the outdoor seating is a big plus. But the service and waiting is not worth the visit.More

This place is amazing. I accidentally showed up a bit before they opened and the door was locked. The owner saw me walking away and invited me in, got the pizza oven going and served me even though it was before hours. So impressed and...appreciative of great the customer service and fantastic food!More

Slater's is a nice, independent local spot for BBQ and pizza. On our visit, we focused on the BBQ. We had an order of the Saddlebags" to start - unique take on potato skins. Very tasty and quite a good portion. Wife had the beef...brisket platter. Very tender and well smoked. I had the Cubano sandwich, another unique take on getting pulled pork into a menu item. Very good, only complaint would be the tiny bag of chips it came with. Would Have preferred fries or slaw. Will try the pizza next time as they had some interesting choices on the menu. Great place for families or groups, although seating is not expansive so probably gets crowded at times.More

I admit it: I’m a pizza lover. I travel far to try new pizza and love it when I find a place I can count on for great pizza; Slater’s is my go-to place for a delicious wood-fired pizza in central Massachusetts. Some say the...sauce makes the pizza, and if that’s the case Slater’s sauce is certainly one of the reasons their pizza is so popular. Try the Tuscan for a delicious mix of meatballs with ricotta, mozzarella and Romano cheeses. Crust enjoyment varies widely among foodies. I generally don’t eat the crust because it’s usually doughy, or salty and huge so I just end up filling up on the crust if I force myself to eat it. Slater’s crust is thin and crispy and delicious to the last bite so it’s one of those rare pizzas where I eat the whole slice every time. The pepperoni in particular on Slater’s pizza is a huge, delicious, thinly-sliced treat. If you just can’t order a pizza without pepperoni, you’ll love the Slater’s pepperoni. Beer on tap and in bottles is available, and a perfect compliment for the pizza, if you enjoy beer. Slater’s has other delicious meals, in particular their BBQ sauce is terrific. The 495 Southbound and 495 Northbound pizzas feature this tasty sauce as a base. The sound bound is pulled pork, the Northbound is pulled chicken. I think the pulled pork is the better of the two. There is live music on some nights including an open mic night so it can get loud and quite crowded, especially on weekends. Slater’s has ample parking and I’ve never seen every spot taken so don’t worry about finding a spot. In summer they’ve opened up a charming lawn area for dining outside. If you can handle the occasional yellow jacket lurking around outside it’s a great way to enjoy a tasty lunch with a scenic forest view. Vegetarians, you may have a tough time here. Yes, there are salads and vegetarian pizza available and they are good, but nothing on the menu seems specifically crafted for the vegetarian palette, and no vegan meat alternatives are available to my knowledge. It would be great if they offered some Gardein meatless pizza options like The Yardhouse does because the Slater’s sauce would make it spectacular. You may wish to try Rail Trail in nearby Hudson if you find yourself wanting for vegetarian options at Slater’s. The bottom line here is the Bolton doesn’t have a lot of dining options and has no proper pubs so Slater’s is about as close as you can get and I highly recommend Slater’s for pizza lovers and fans of Bar-BQ food.More

Went with my kids, wife and our friends and their kids. Took a bit to get the pizza but it was tasty. I would recommend this place for a nice Sunday afternoon lunch.

Heard great things about this eatery. Unfortunately, did not experience the same. Restaurant was approximately 70% full with 3 wait staff. Had to wait several minutes to get our drink order and much longer to receive the meal. When it did arrive no cutlery nor...napkins. Another 5 minutes before the waitress returned with the items. By this time the wood fired pizza with canned tomatoes was rather cold. Overpriced.. overhyped...underserviced... never again.More

Great music, atmosphere and staff - excellent pizza brought us back for 2nd time - BBQ good but under-heated both times we went. Kitchen staff appears to be weak link - yummy food served cold (on two trips) makes me less likely to rush a...third trip. I want to LOVE this place - hoping owners can get the kitchen staff to pull it together!More

I have eaten here several times since I moved to the area...I am always in search for a really good pizza and those I have tried in the area have left me disappointed! Once I had pizza here with a friend I thought it was...undercooked and once over cooked. Heard there was a new pizza guy from a friend who goes there on Thursday...open mike night. Decided to try but on Thursday because I didn’t get there soon enough there was no place anywhere to sit. Tried again and the pizza was perfection. Just the right amount of somewhat sweet but slightly spicy sauce and just the right amount of cheese!! This is what I have been looking for since moving here! I will be back. I think they also serve BBQ but I am not a BBQ person so I have not really looked beyond the pizza!More

Took the family out for a couple pizza's and beers. the place was hopping and the music and service was great. The pizza is one of the best in this area where many have forgotten how to cook one.
