Staff is friendly, menu is diverse, atmosphere is historic. Can't do Better than that. Ate there twice. Food was consistent and delicious. Salads were innovative and modern. Fried clams were the best on the Cape, and Ive been eaten them for my whole life. So tender. Woke up the next day wanting another of their Pizza.

The location of the Tavern is great..within walking distance of a nice area in Barnstable. The food here (I went during lunch) was good and the prices were what I consider to be fair. The Service was a bit slow and our waitress was not very personable..she never came back to see if we needed anything else and brought the... More

We had reservations for 5:30pm only one other table occupied in dining room. We waited 15 minutes no one came to table. Finally went to the hostess and said we would like some service. Finally a waitress came over and took our drink order. she took our order and then we waited for 45minutes for it to come. Once received... More

Looking for a lighter dinner this is a good place to visit. The outside seating would be a good choice, inside its a little bland. Service was pretty fast, although inside had few patrons. MY beef burger was very good, medium rare, a little crunch outside, moist inside. The fries were also cooked just right, outer crusty inside smooth; nicely... More

This restaurant is in historic Barnstable village. Great location. Hostess tonight was rude and insisted that we didn't have a reservation when I knew we did. Then, being disabled I asked for a table and was told " I know table with 4 chairs".. Dining room was not crowded and there were several tables. Waitress was nice but harried because... More

I bring my guests here all the time. Huge, varied menu incl. kids options. On nice days, I like outside under the umbrellas in the patio. Great for watching the people and action on the street. Exc. drinks including craft beer selection and adequate wine list. The staff is very clean cut, courteous and most helpful.

In the heart of historic Barnstable Village this restaurant and tavern combines a unique sense of history with an seafood menu. There is plenty of space and the staff is very friendly. You can eat in with air conditioning or eat on the spacious patio and enjoy the breeze from nearby Barnstable waterfront.

The food and service were good, the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. Choices for inside seating are either in the tavern or in the dining room. We sat in the tavern, luckily we ate early as it got quite noisy as the evening progressed. Next time we will eat in the dining room.

Dined here last week with a party of seven. The menu is large and the food plentiful and delicious. Service was friendly if a little abrupt. It was also too dark outside so many tables used their phones to light their food. But overall a very good experience.

The scrod is excellent and they had a whole belly clam sandwich. I had the Angus burger and it was lean and tasty. We all enjoyed our meal and eating outside under the umbrellas was delightful. The prices were reasonable and and the servers were friendly.
