We just hosted a party at the Urban Winery for my son and his wife. We invited about 40 people, and had a great space which allowed everyone to mix comfortably, sit, and visit with friends. The food, wine, and service were terrific - we...worked closely with Georgia and Damon to put together a set of appetizers that were a big hit. Of course, the wine was great - and they also picked up some beer from one of the nearby microbreweries for our non-wine-loving guests. We enthusiastically recommend the Urban Winery to anyone planning a party.More

We stopped at Urban Winery while passing though town and the only negative I can find is that it isn't closer to where we live. The tasting room is in an industrial park and has an elevated brewery vibe. Their wines are delicious, but they...also serve local beers, other wines from independent wineries, and even several Greek wines. The owner Damon was friendly, knowledgeable, and super helpful. We will definitely stop in any time we are in the area. I can't wait to try the hop wine (cans!) we got to go. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area or passing through.More

We sampled their wines while attending the Wine Fest at the Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill. We were impressed with their wines and enjoyed chatting with them.

Nice evening out. We had flights of delicious wine and nice snacks/foods to go with it. It was a bit pricey and the portions could have been a bit bigger, but the staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about all the wines offering good suggestions....Live music was loud in a small place. Good music, but hard to have a conversation. Overall a good experience.More

so they by grapes and press them in ouse- ok fine- but the wines are not very good and the prices are high. Food is just ok- limited and its just not worth the money given all the choices in Silver Spring-- and the owners...are NOT friendly---do yourself a favor and get a 6$ glass of GOOD wine at Copper Canyon.More

Visited here early evening on a saturday in October. Were very impressed. Not only do they have their own very good wines but also other local MD wines and wines from other regions around the world. Also, for folks that arent wine drinkers they have...draft brews. Their food is small plate servings and very good. The MD crab soup was super! Very small place with bar seating and a few small tables and also 3 or so big community tables. Will definitely return......everything was great. The server, Zoe, was amazing.....very knowledgable and super friendly...More

I tasted the Strawberry Merlot in their Metro Series and I just had to drive from Baltimore to get it. The place is nice for a date, business meeting, or just for friends hanging out. I recommend the Metro Series Flight. It is awesome! So,...grab your friends, your boo, or your workmates and get to The Urban Winery.More

We tried Urban Winery for the first time this week, as a local alternative to driving to Loudoun or Prince William County wineries for tastings. This cozy family-run winery actually does its own winemaking on the premises, in a compact room visible from the restaurant...seating area out front. Urban Winery doesn’t do the big winery-style tastings at the bar, but does offer multiple types of wine and beer flights. I opted for the Metro Flight, which allows you to choose three of their fruit-infused wines, and my wife tried the Red Flight. Several of our choices would be worthwhile trying separately. We also liked the fig and prosciutto flatbread, which was thoroughly laden with minute prosciutto chunks and red onions. The servers were very pleasant and responsive to our questions about their wines and food. We’d be happy to try more of their wines and mezze dishes next time.More

Had a lovely time. There was nice live music Saturday night. The staff is excellent. The local wines are very good, and the selection of international wines is excellent. The Greek wines are very good. The selection of beers and ciders is also very nice....The food is tasty, the salami is very very good, as is the hummus. I highly recommend coming and having a bottle with some snacks.More

This establishment is a credit to Silver Spring -- the only wine bar downtown and it is a very good. Nice atmosphere, helpful and friendly wait staff, and, of course, some nice wine selections from Bulgaria, Hungary, Portugal, France, and Spain, not to mention local...offerings (which I have not sampled). I am totally content with the European offerings! Nice place to open a book and relax with the white or red of your choice.More

I took my friend there for her birthday yesterday just to get some drinks. We each got a flight of wine (3 different wines each from a particular selection) and we shared a charcuterie (cheese and meat) board. It also had fruits, crackers, and nuts....Zoe was our bartender and server. We arrived as the venue was opening at 4p. They make several selections of wine in-house. I had the 3 metro wine selections(sweeter wines) strawberry, green apple, and cranberry and they were all great. I will be going back at a time later than 5p when the cook can also be there so I can try other menu selections.More

Although service was very pleasant, and although there was a huge wine selection, I'm not sure I could give rave reviews for the Maryland wines. Food was mediocre but ok.

We came on Veterans Day. Selection of wines both local and international. Some are made at this location. The beer selection is very good and as the owners are Greek, the food menu is primarily Greek too. Very, very good food. Good music and casual...atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and Daniel and the bartender, we didn't learn her name, made the experience all the better.More

The wines are pretty terrible. There are significantly better wineries in Virginia. This place would be much much better if they had an expanded wine selection from Virginia, California, other countries, etc. Food menu could also be expanded to include some good hot items.
