I had a tofu dish that was eatable, but could have used more seasoning. I am not sure I will return.

I have eaten at Mandalay numerous times and try to get something different each time. It isn't hard to do because they have quite an extensive menu. Everything I have had has been delicious. I highly recommend Mandalay - it is my favorite dining spot amongst the numerous restaurants in Silver Spring.

Mandalay is both a great neighborhood restaurant and a good place to try Burmese food. We're especially fond of the green tea salad and the ginger salad. For main courses, the pork with pickled mango curry and the sour mustard with tofu are also tangy and great.

i was brought there to celebrate my birthday, and that was my first experience with Malaysian food. It was attractively strange, and fun to eat. We ate off each other's plates, and everything was delicious.

We ate there with friends. We started with the Gram Fritters and Samosa's. Both were excellent. My wife ordered the PaZun Ohnno Hin: Shrimp, green pepper, onion, and tomato simmered in coconut curry sauce which she liked very much. I ordered the Nyat KaukSwe Gyaw: Flat rice noodles stir-fried with pork and shrimp, bean sprouts, lettuce, ground peanuts and topped... More

Had several appetizers and divided a green tea salad between four people - delicious taste. Other dishes including chefs special beef, chicken, mixed noodles, yellow beans and bamboo shoots were also super tasty. The Spanish Tempranillo was just ok - probably better to stick with green tea or beer. Service was very friendly and efficient.

First, the food -- absolutely delicious. Everything can be made spicy or mild, or the staff will let you know if it is just a very spicy dish. I don't eat hot spices and I didn't have any problem finding incredible food. Second, the staff -- so incredibly friendly and helpful. We were a table of 16 people and the... More

Decided to try something new on our way home from a short weekend jaunt to Ellicott City, and this was where I wanted to go. A tad disappointed that all the appetizers that aren't soup or salad are fried, but we had the mushroom soup and it was delish! I had #11, Chicken (was told this and #9 were the... More

Mandalay is one of my hands down favorite places to eat in Silver Spring. (As you can deduce, the food is Burmese. Not quite Indian, not quite Chinese, not quite Malaysian. It's hard to describe but super, super delicious. The vegetables are extremely fresh, the sauces are really light and delicious, not at all heavy or sugary. And they give... More
