Thanks to Groupon, Lamoon Thai was my destination for lunch yesterday with a friend. We both were very pleased with our meals – and dismayed to see few other patrons in the restaurant – so I wanted to share our thoroughly positive experience. We both chose the lunch special, which includes soup or another appetizer, main course, and a beverage (soda, or Thai iced tea or coffee) – all for $12. I greatly enjoyed each element of my meal – the main course (pad thai with tofu) and the soup (tom yum chicken) were vividly flavored, and the Thai iced tea was creamy, refreshing, and invigorating (i.e., well-caffeinated!). Further, the portions were quite generous – I brought half the pad thai home – and the server was highly attentive and pleasant. I'll definitely visit again!

Really excellent Thai food. The brown sauce and the spicy sauce were both very flavorful. I hope they survive the stay-at-home period. I encourage people to call them for carryout so that they don't have to pay Postmates for online orders.

Sparse interior. But don't let that fool you. Pad Thai is one of the best in Silver Spring. Extensive menu.
