We always enjoy and everyone is so nice.

My family and I love sushi. We are never disappointed. We are always greeted warmly, it is family run, they work very hard. Love the quality and presentation. Even though ownership has changed, the man making sushi worked with the other owner for a long time. I like it before, but I have to say it is a bit on point and consistently so. This is and will remain our go to for sushi for as long as it remains. Thank you for the best sushi around Salisbury, Sakura.

Best Takeaway that’s come to Downton

Such a great meal, we don’t have many choices in downton for takeaway so was really interested in trying this! It was the best Thai I’ve ever had. So fresh and great portion sizes. Will order again soon

Never again. Metal in my food.

Never again. Went in a Sunday afternoon, was our first time in the restaurant. They had “all you can eat” sushi, soup, & hibachi. Prices ranges from 11.95 to 16.95. The waiter informed us “order all you want, but you have to eat it all. No wasting”. They charge you if you don’t eat all that you order, and apparently you can’t take it home. The whole ordering process was rushed & confusing. Fast forward, sushi is brought to our table...was just ok. Nothing great. Then, as I was eating, I bit down on something. It was a piece of METAL in my food. The waiter said “do you want a discount or something?” Needless to say, we won’t be back. Much better places to get sushi in town.

Food is okay. Service is fair. Got all you can eat and wasn’t able to finish just under three pieces. The waitress (who wasn’t very friendly) said there would be a 50 cent charge per leftover piece. I asked where it says that. She went and got a DIFFERENT menu and said it said it there. However, my menu did not say that. They didn’t care. If you’re looking for good sushi, friendly staff, and no hidden fees, go across the street to East Moon.

Awful had to leave food on table

We ordered shrimp tempura, egg rolls and Friday night fiery sushi roll. Our tempura came out oily with no tempura batter. The egg rolls were greasy with no taste. As for the sushi roll it was greasy and the grease overpowered the meal. We asked to take back our food and owner refused and stated we must pay for what we ordered.

Changed hands and not the quality-Very Disappointing

We loved the "previous" Sakura Japan and always had delicious food. The menu is not the same, nor is the quality. The tempura shrimp and vegetables had the veggies in the correct batter, but the shrimp were dry and coated in crumbs, not batter. There were a lot of sushi roll choices, but no sushi. No beer or wine which might be coming. the waitress was good, but not like the last owner's staff. Disappointing and we will not be going back. Sorry!

My wife and I felt like Japanese after running a late afternoon errand in Salisbury . Our first two picks were not opening until 4:30 PM . Sakura Japan was open and we decided to give it a try... Now , our new favorite restraunt in Salisbury. We had the $16.95 all you can eat special (which we’re not usually big fans of) . What a great value , and every selection was delicious . We’re both amateur cooks and are often disappointed when dining out . Sakura Japan did not miss a beat. The icing on the cake was the hostess, a real sweetheart . HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Once a Month is an Absolute Minimum

2018-08-30: We sat at the sushi counter, in our regular seats. We started, as always, with a bottle of Riesling (18). I started with Miso Soup and the House Salad with Ginger dressing that came with my entree, and Lew picked Egg Rolls (2.75) to start. We were also presented with a nice amuse bouche of a pepper tuna salad made, fresh, when we arrived. Lew’s entrée was Beef Lo Mien (8.95) and mine was Hibachi Beef and Shrimp (13.95). As usual, we both brought home a substantial amount for later use.

If you love sushi then come to this place. They have an all you can eat sushi deal for lunch and dinner! It is a great way to try new rolls or rolls you normally would not try!

Excellent Japanese & Sushi

Sakura is an excellent, and importantly, quiet dining experience, that offers fresh entrees and sushi selections. If you sit at the Sushi bar table, you will find any selection can be tweeted to your palate's desire. (Spicy or Sweeter, etc) Not all venues offer this.....added to this, Sakura offers an excellent calue All You Can Eat Sushi Dinner option on the menu. It is a la carte, so a little planning for your Sushi feast will make the selections seamless, wirhout waiting, as you dine. Friendly staff and owners that are truly thankful you walk through the door and choose their offerings. Always a pleasure to eat and have a relaxing meal, even when it is crowded, it is quiet. Wonderful place to dine.

We split a bottle of Riesling (16) and both had Snow Crab Salad. Lew moved on to Fried Dumplings (4.95), a California Roll (3.95) and Fried Cheese Wonton (3.95). I had the Lunch Special (15.95) of the Snow Crab Salad, Salisbury Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll.

We shared a bottle of Riesling (18). I had the lunch special (15.95). Lyd ordered ala carte with a Veggie Tempura Appetizer (3.95), Rocky Shrimp (6.95), Fried Gyoza (4.95) and Fried Cheese Wonton (3.95). The lunch special is AYCE with multiple appetizers and a couple dozen different sushi rolls

Hibachi Combo Day

In the 60+ times we've been to Sakura, we generally sit at the counter, and sushi is my usual choice and Lyd loves their Seafood Soup, but not today. We wanted something different and we were not disappointed. Forgoing sushi, and with a bottle of Riesling (18), Lyd ordered Hibachi Steak and Chicken (12.95) and I chose Hibachi Scallop and Shrimp (12.95). No, there's no "show" with flying knives and Ken doesn't flip pieces of shrimp through the hair and there's no "onion volcano," either. We're too old for that. It was just a good meal in a comfortable place.
