About

Little Lou’s was established on August 27, 1997 by the Thuerrauch family. It was originally bought to sell crabs, fish, ect, which were caught from our own boats. The Thuerrauch’s have been fishing the Upper Chesapeake out of Middle River, Maryland for over 60 years. Captain Ray Louis Thuerrauch, aka “Radar Ray”, father of Louis Thuerrauch, grandson of Little Lou Thuerrauch Jr. had perfected the art of fishing and crabbing as we know it today. The experience of being a local waterman has enabled Little Lou to catch the best seafood, and know where and when to find the freshest seafood. Now, still serving fresh fish and crabs locally caught. We also, have mastered and created our own special crab seasoning, which is the perfect blend for the perfect crab. In addition, all of our food is prepared in store, made fresh daily, with family recipes dating back centuries. Furthermore, our sub rolls are freshly made and baked every morning.

Fresh and prepared seafood ... good choices

Little Lou's is an unassuming shop right on Philadelphia Road in Rosedale. Fresh seafood is featured as expected, but the menu includes subs, platters, steamed crabs and more. Stuffed Orange Ruffy was advertised on the message board, and I did not think twice before ordering. It was a big treat with flaky white fish and a golden topping of crab. I chose fries and cucumber salad for sides. I found that the portion of tartar sauce was actually very good with the fries. I grabbed a big iced tea from the well stocked fridge. Although most of the customers get carryout, I decided to eat on one of the tables outside because the weather was perfect. Service was fast. A great place to stop on the way hone from work.

Great Little Hideaway/Best Crabs

My husband and I recently starting getting our crabs here and have tried several of their special platters. This place is a hidden gem. The staff are kind and friendly. Great customer service and great prices. If you are in the area, please give this place a try. We love it!

Great food and not expensive! We order lunch for work from there often also! It's not far from my job, so easy for picking up a light dinner too.

Decent food

My family has been eating from here for years. A few weeks ago we had family up from Georgia, so we ordered from Little Lou's. I got my usual, softball crab sandwich. Which was good, but some of our other food was terrible. My mother in law ordered the crab soup, they used rotten crabs in the soup. Crabs should not be black and smell horrible. She called and they credited the card back, which was good, but would not recommend. We ordered a side of chicken wings. I love wings and know good wings, they were horrible. They were so overcooked, they were dry. A few years ago, they would advertise 3 dozen males for $45, we called to order some and said they did not have any. Here is an idea, take the sign down. If my company has tool deals, for twos months and I leave flyers out past two months, I honor that sale price. They tried to upsell. Won't work with me, not in my business. I would rather go to Kahlers for crab. Shrimp salad and softball crabs, I would recommend.

Good food if prepared properly.

Food is usually good but store is dirty. Help goes from one thing to another without ever washing their hands. Scale platform not wiped clean, same with counter top. Help needs to be instructed about keeping it clean. Wiping hands on your shirt or pants is not making them clean.

Best Shrimp Salad and Crab Cake EVER

The best ever shrimp salad and crab cake ANYWHERE!!! Absolutely the best. Little Lou, the owner, is very accommodating. His staff need to be more polite....but food is worth it.

Crappy Service and Racist

My husband and I went in there and could not get service but all the white couples were being waited on so we left. We decided to call and order for delivery and we got a turkey sub with no turkey and 6 french fries and chicken strip basket with 2 chicken strips and no fries and the delivery girl said here is the order for the n***er and his w**re

Terrible customer service!

I called Little Lou's on Saturday August 1st to order crabs for a birthday party on Sunday August 2nd. The girl who answered the phone was very rude and acted like I was bothering her. Attitude through the whole conversation, but I let that slide since I have had crabs from here before and have even recommended them to other people. They would not deliver to my house so I had the crabs delivered to my mother's who the party was for. So the day of the party the crabs were to be delivered to my mother at 3:30. Well the crabs arrived late, around 4pm. Second, the delivery guy dropped the bushel of crabs and the crabs were on the sidewalk and grass. I know mistakes happen and the bit was very apologetic, but when my mom called the shop to tell them what had happened she got the girl with the attitude on the phone and her response was, "well what do you want me to do about it!" My mother asked about getting other crabs and she said we could bring the bushel back and they would clean them and resteam the crabs. My mom said no because they were for a party and people were waiting on the crabs. My mom asked for money to be taken off the bill and the girl said $5. My mom stated no way and finally the girl agreed to $20 off the bushel. So once the crabs got to the party, they were not so good. A lot of the crabs were hollow inside with no meat and mushy! After the terrible customer service and bad crabs, they lost a few customers and I will be sure to tell the people who I recommended to go here forget about it now!!!!

Good subs and fries.

We took a road trip just to try Lou's. Enjoyed the country ride and the food at Little Lou's. Long way to travel for a sub , the only disappointment was the service. Not friendly at all. The seafood looked good, but we did not order any seafood. Our order was the everyday special , 2 subs, 2 fries, 2 drinks for 13.99. This is a take out only place, so we took our food to a local park to enjoy.

Wife and I have heard good things about their crabs, so we went there for our first crabs of the year. We ordered a dozen of their biggest/best crabs. What we got didn't impress, about five were actually full, the rest, not so. I just expected better. Maybe if they had thrown in an extra crab or so. But no. We did order a variety of other seafood off the menu. I recommend the codfish cakes. Maybe we caught them on an off night, maybe we will try them for the smaller crabs.

excellent steamed crabs

as a life-long baltimorean, i've tried countless carry-out crab places. a friend of mine turned me on to this place for steamed crabs, and although it's not exactly convenient to where i reside, this is now the place where i get my carry-out crabs. well seasoned, reasonably priced and always fresh. but it is strictly a carry-out joint.
