The food and setting is stellar! Located in a nondescript neighborhood mall area behind an IHOP on Rockville Pike. The best Indian Food I’ve ever had, and very moderately priced. I was fighting a cold and found their Spiced Chai, and their Daal soup the best tasting cold medicine ever😉. Their pakoras and samosas were not the least bit greasy which encouraged me to use the accompanying sauces. Every dish was so aromatic without being overpowering.

A little out of the way, but well worth the trip.

After reading great reviews, we tried OM carry out for a family of six. Normally, when we venture into exotic cuisine, the kids 9-11, can be relied on to request Mac and cheese. This time they asked for the leftovers for dinner the next night. The food was wonderful, and plentiful, the service was excellent. We will be back.

First time to OM Fine Indian Cuisine. It is in a Rockville Pike strip mall, and is directly adjacent to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, El Mariachi. OM is easy to miss if you are standing in front of El Mariachi, but this end of the strip mall, away from Rockville Pike, has a treasure trove of interesting restaurants. The OM menu is quite extensive, and includes a nice selection of vegetarian dishes. The wine list is decent and not pricey. We started with the vegetable pakora which was very tasty. Lots of potato slices but also cauliflower and eggplant. My wife ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, her standby favorite, but wassn't thrilled with dark meat chicken, her only complaint about the dish. The gravy was excellent. I ordered the Baigan Bharta, medium spice level, and it was very tasty. The naan was quite nice, too. I had a Malbec and then a Cab which were house wine quality, but good. The restaurant does a very good takeout business, and so there are always folks coming in to pick up their orders. One waiter and the manager, who also pitches in when not handling the takeout orders. Nonetheless, both are very attentive to the dining-in patrons, and service is excellent. We are returning this evening to try other dishes and looking forward to another fine dining experience. There is also a Thai restaurant, an Asian seafood restaurant and a few others within walking distance.

We LOVE Om Restaurant, not only for the food, which is amazing, but as a family-owned business, the customer service is outstanding. We love their butter chicken and fish curry as well as the daal soup. I don’t think you can go wrong here. Help support a great local restaurant!

Very nice and friendly staff. Clean and the food was fantastic and tasty. The owner was approachable and down to earth. We ordered: chicken tikkamasala, butter chicken, spinach paneer, samosas (out of this world), shrimp biriyani, and mango lasse (refreshing). We also ordered a variety of naan bread. I highly recommend.

My 11 yo niece was visiting and she loves Indian food so we decided on this place. I’ve never had Indian food before and wasn’t sure I’d like it but holy smokes! I’m obsessed!!! Every single thing we ordered was amazing down to their plain basmati rice! We will absolutely be going back again and again!!! The samoas were incredible especially with the sauces they add, the shahi paneer was outstanding, my husbands lamb dish was so good and my shrimp byriani was so good! Highly recommend this place for good Indian food!

Second visit to OM

We tried OM restaurant a month ago & again yesterday for lunch. It is a pretty place with tablecloths & cloth napkins (a plus at lunchtime). We had papadams with sauces, chicken pakoras & samosa chaat for starters. All were excellent. The tamarind & cilantro sauces seemed a little watered down on our second visit. We enjoyed Chicken Korma, Lamb Rogan Josh & Chicken Biryani. All of the entrees were delicious & fragrantly spiced. We ordered medium level spice. Save room for desert. We had the mango ice cream, kulfi & rasmalia. Food was delicious & we had lots of leftovers. Service was attentive.

The people are amazing!

The people there are amazing! They were so friendly and helpful. We got takeout because of COVID, but the restaurant itself looked really nice inside. The food was really good too. We got the chicken tiki masala and garlic naan. Would definitely recommend!

Wow! Amazing food at a great price!

We visited this restaurant for the first time this evening -- but it most certainly won't be the last. The food was..... wonderful! My friend had Chicken Palak -- and found it utterly delicious. I had the Tandoori Chicken -- the moistest and most flavorful I have ever had. The naan was delivered hot out of the oven and even though I generally avoid wheat -- I couldn't resist it. It was the best ever. Even the rice was fluffy. The butter chicken -- oh -- so good! The owner was kind and attentive and the atmosphere very inviting -- white table clothes and napkins -- but we fit in and felt welcome in our casual clothes. Around us were a young Indian family, university students, as well as an internationally diversified clientele. Looking forward to returning!

Went based on other reviews & was not disappointed. Pretty & spotless interior to take clients or out-of-towners. The owner's wife Agnes is so nice & served our food in such a gracious manner. The lunch special can not be beat! It's a pre fix menu with quality food--not a ehhh buffet. Located in shopping center behind IHOP. Ample parking. Delish!

The smells, the food, YUM!!!

I was looking for a new place to go in Rockville and Googled great restaurants. OM Fine Indian Cuisine popped up in the search. When I looked at the website it looked a little more like a "bare" table and chair place (though there were no pictures). I just got the feel. With aback up plan in place, my wife I did a drive by. We could see table linen and large water glasses with nicely folded napkins so we decided to go in. As soon as we entered the smell was amazing. we were met by the owner Louis. He made some suggestions that were helpful. My wife order the Butter Chicken. You get get it seasoned mild, medium or hot. She went with medium (should have gotten it hot) but I liked the way the would add heat to every meal they had if you wanted it. I got the Tandoori Platter. The flavors were amazing. The real winner on the menu (he gave us a sample) was the Chicken Korma. I can't wait to back and get a whole dinner of the Korma. From start to finish it was a very pleasurable dinning experience. Two notes: They do serve wine and beer. Also, if you pay by credit card there is a 2% surcharge. Basically they are giving you the discounted prices for not using your credit card.

Superior Indian cuisine

Been to O&M many times and never had a bad meal. Best part is you can request the degree of spiciness you want when you order. I like Indian food traditionally spicy. Yesterday I had the lamb curry and there was plenty of meat and no attached fat. Their na'an bread is the best I've ever had. Slightly crispy on the outside but soft as wool on the inside. Another pointer to the quality is that there are almost always Indian clientele eating there when I go - a sure sign of good ethnic food. I spilled some rice onto the carpet and could have eaten it right off the floor it was so clean! I didn't because that would have embarrassed my wife.

We have eaten across the street from this restaurant for years... and in the same space when it was a Japanese restaurant. We never went in! Last night I went to tripadvisor and asked for reviews of Indian Restaurants and up popped OM as number one. It was wonderful. As we were packing up our leftovers and the manager (who my wife had told earlier "the green cilantro sauce was amazing") brought us two additional small cups of green sauce for our leftovers. We will be back.

Indian food at its best

So, we have eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants in the area and OM is at the top. Luis, the owner, makes you feel like family. EVERY dish we have eaten here is amazing and they season your food to your liking, All of the friends we have taken here have raved about the food. My favorite is the curry dishes but the Tandoori are a close second. The portions are more than adequate and the food always comes piping hot. The prices are very reasonable. Can't miss with this one. P.S. They do a large take-out business if you don't want to eat there. .

The food here was absolutely fantastic! Prices are reasonable and the service quick and polite. This was our third time to this restaurant (I like to wait three visits, minimum, before offering a review), and the food and service were consistent all three times. We will be going back in the near future.
