Quaint, but stylish, this establishment has an updated retro vibe ... in accordance with the French theme they were going for. I like it! And the menu matched the theme perfectly. My wife and I ordered from the breakfast menu and were pleasantly surprised to...learn that they offered a GF waffle. So my wife went with the GF Waffle French Toast. She loved it! I had the Mosaic Breakfast which was a hardier choice and was quite pleased as well. The staff did a wonderful job attending to our needs. Kudos to the management for the selection and training.More

While the service was attentive and the place was pretty, the highly hyped waffles were tasteless. I had a croque monsieur, with a waffle instead of bread, and bland bechamel sauce and cold fries. No way will I go back.

Family atmosphere in a very visually pleasing setting. Menu was limited on this Saturday lunch. Waffle was used as bread on most sandwich entrees. We would try a different place next time.

As a visitor to the area, we walked around the plaza looking for a restaurant to eat dinner. As we stood outside trying to read the menu on the table through a window, a friendly bartender came out and welcomed us in to look at...the menu. One glance & we made our decision to stay!!!! The place as well appointed, the service outstanding, & the waitress Nicole extremely knowledgeable friendly and attentive. As Nicole said this is not your Instagram French restaurant. It is French food but it is full size portions, beautifully presented, and scrumptious!!!! We were all very pleased with what we ordered and if we lived in the area; we would be regular patrons. Thank you to the entire staff of Mosaic cuisine for giving us a memorable dinner while visiting DC.More

Waiter was attentive, and service was good overall. Dining companion had monkfish which she said was very good. I had duck confit w/duck breast (and substituted fries for potato au gratin) which was very good and certainly filing. Would definitely return!

I have been going to Mosaic since LITERALLY their first opening YEARS ago. The food is SUPERB! The Staff is always courteous. The atmosphere welcoming and the noise levels subdued. This is my FAVORITE restaurant. Whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Everyone I have ever...introduced to the place has also fallen in love with it. The other week I had beef tenderloins that all but melted in my mouth! Fantastic!!!More

I was looking for a breakfast place to celebrate my 7 year old's birthday in Rockville. As always I did my Yelp search and hit on Mosaic Cuisine. They had a great rating and really good reviews. Not having been there before I didn't make...a reservation, BIG MISTAKE!. The place was packed but it didn't take long to get a table. Only seeing photos online I really did not know what to expect. We were greeted quickly and offered the Sunday brunch menu. My son and I were in the mood for waffles which Mosaic has in abundance! Every type of waffle you can imagine, they have; sweet or savory. They menu had so many delicious options from salads to omelets, pastas and b. I had to ask the waiter for his recommendation between a few dishes. My son's selection was easy, waffle with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. I decided to get the Mango, bleu cheese with red berry jam waffle. I started the meal with a glass of Prosecco since my son's birth is also a celebration for mommy. The presentations are very simple but the food was mind-blowing, every bite was delicious!! The waffles are so light and crisp they took me back to my days in Paris. Since starting this review my son and I have been back a few times and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND but make sure to make a reservation if going on a Sunday.More

This is one of the best restaurants I have found in the Rockville area. It truly is hidden but well worth the effort to find it. The ambiance is modern and quiet. The service is friendly and at a level you would expect from a...5 star restaurant. The food, is a perfectly balanced blend of texture, flavor, and portion all for a reasonable price. This is on top of my list as a mustt visit when in the Rockville area.More

This restaurant is interesting, especially with its waffle-instead-of-bread sandwiches. The waffle is light and not too thick or heavy, but my omelet was very odd tasting. I noticed that several in my group did not eat their whole meal and also chose not to take...their leftovers home.More

Went here with another couple for dinner so we didn't focus on waffles at our meal. But you still could get waffle sandwiches. One person had the Beef Bourguignon and loved it. Another had duck and found it tasty. And yet another had Parmesan Chicken...(don't be fooled by the purple in the dish. It is potatoes.). I had Steak Frittes. Meat was tender and perfectly cooked. Only drawback was that it was not hot. Not even warm enough to melt the butter on top of it. Onion soup was tasty too and instead of croutons, they used waffles. Bread basket included break and waffles served with butter and jams. Have done breakfast here in the past and it is fabulous. Don't forget the hot chocolate at breakfast. Delicious.More

Just had Sunday brunch at Mosaics. The Mosaic omelet, waffle and potato pancake were delicious. The waffles were so light you didn't feel guilty eating them. The staff was polite and service was good. It was a little crowded (Sunday morning no surprise). This is...a lovely informal spot to have a brunch with a friend.More

If you, like me, checked this place out years ago...it is time to take a second look! A friend convinced me to go last night, and I was very pleasantly surprised. My recollection is that everything was a variation on waffles, which limited its appeal...to me. But now they have expanded their menu. The decor has also been renovated. I liked the vibe (quiet and attentive). Our server had a wonderful personality. Her skills were less than excellent, TBH, which is why I can't really give the place 5 stars. Still, prices are fair. They let us sit and talk for hours. The acoustics afforded us that luxury. And the food was an eclectic mix of tempting options. I will be back.More

I can’t forgive myself for not knowing about this gem!!! Me, this crazy person who brags about eating in all French restaurants in the area Normandy Farms ✅ Cafe Normandy. ✅ Le Diplomat ✅ Bistro Cacao ✅ Bistro Du Coin ✅ And many many many...more, how could I miss this one!!! I am so thankful to my kid who told me about this piece if heaven, as we were looking for a place that would serve good breakfast on weekdays We came to celebrate my friends birthday and I was surprised at the modern yet classy decor It looks clean, fresh, inviting We order the basket of bread and it comes with olive oil and a touch of sugar, yum yum Then I order the smoked salmon sandwich on a waffle, I am not crazy about waffles but this is the mother of all waffles, light and moist, very savory and delicious My friend order the eggs Benedicts with ham, and my baby order a waffle with grilled vegetables The mimosas were on point and they serve LAVAZZA coffee!!! Yes, they do!!! They serve one of my favorite coffee Service was ok, Manuel wasn't very friendly but he has helpful I didn't go there to make friends and talking about making friends I have to admit that there was a black guy, who claims he comes to eat breakfast there every day that he was a bit intrusive he kept coming to our table to make remarks about my nails and my daughter outfit, I found it odd that this stranger who had a very strong smell was coming to our table to disturbed our happy occasion, that's the reason I am taking a start awayMore

Two colleagues were going out to dinner and invited me along. They had planned to walk to visit a nearby pizzeria (our hotel was very close), but when we arrived, the glass doors were filthy with fingerprints. Gross. If they can't keep their doors clean,...what do their ovens look like? Very nearby, was Mosaic, with an intriguing menu in the window (and crystal-clear glass doors). We went in and were immediately greeted and seated. Our hostess described their cuisine, and the server took our drink orders. I had the cod, and my tablemates ordered a chicken picatta and the pork tenderloins. The cod, was light, flaky and cooked to perfection. I still wonder how they made this so perfectly. It was one of the most memorable pieces of fish I have ever had. My mates were equally pleased. Service was not rushed, and our server was the utmost professional. With entree prices of $17-$26 (or so) this worked out to be a great value. The next night, I went back solo, and had the steak over fries (pommes frites). They dropped off a small plate of bread, a waffle (cut into strips) and butter. Delectable. The entree arrived soon, and the steak, maybe with a bit more salt than I would prefer, was cooked to absolute perfection. So tender, moist, and delicate. I had to text my wife, 1000+ miles away, telling her what I had found. If you enjoy European-style service (never rushed) and food, this is a must-try if nearby.More

Nice little place, warm atmosphere, quiet (at least when I was there), good food, good service. Convenient location, right off Rockville Pike in the middle of the shopping area near Bethesda -- but, unlike Bethesda, plentiful free parking.
