One of my favorite AYCE Japanese spot in the area. They now have a regular AYCE special and a premium deluxe one that features 10 sashimi pieces. I came here with my friends and ate for 2 hours. The sushi rolls are made fresh. We...loved the tuna, salmon, unagi, and yellowtail. Hot food wise the salmon, shrimp tempura, udon noodle soup, hibachi beef and spicy bulgogi were delicious. Definitely get the deluxe if you love sashimi as the cuts were quality and thick. You get great value here for the price. I'm a big fan of the new fresh made food to order vs the buffet line. Service here is 5 stars alone. Servers were so attentive and our food came out under 10 minutes every round. The entire staff wore gloves, masks and theres hand sanitizer at each table. Shame on me for not writing sooner. Been quite a few times. Why now: currently COVID TIME. Hope you are seeing this in a post-vaccine world. They have hand sanitizer at every table. Clean like maniacs when you leave. Staff masked AND gloved. First place...I indoor dined in months 2 weeks ago and i. went back tonite. Kind of quiet for a Saturday. Food: glowing reviews correct - very fresh, won't break the bank. True all you can eat. No trick and only offer California rolls. Plenty of Nigiri choices. Really good shrimp tempora. Miscl.: Owned by a married couple who seem to be in everyday. They have worked here for decades. Wife makes every effort to make you feel special. A tasty and spacious all you can eat sushi buffet with a good variety of options and a big setting. They have some hot foods too but just a small smattering - the focus really is on the sushi offerings. The chefs make it right...there and restock the options.More

Very good buffet with unlimited sushi and hot food. I have been there only for lunch which is $15. The sushi selection is large, about 40 verities.

There's two options here -- the lunch buffet, which I think is a very good deal, or dinner and drinks which will obviously be more expensive. But the service is good either way, and while not super cheap the lunch buffet is value for money...in terms of freshness and selection. (They also have an Asian hot-bar, soup, salad, and fresh fruit available.) I'd go back.More

Several years ago, this was once one of our favorite restaurants. The lunch buffets were very good, but the ala carte dinners were excellent. For reasons that I forgot, we haven't been there in a few years. We discovered that there is now a dinner...buffet as well. However, we wanted ala carte. Service was prompt and proper, not as friendly as we remember, but adequate. The food was okay, not superlative, but not special either. I asked for some vegetarian rolls, not something normally available on the buffet, and they were free. Will we go back? Probably.More

This is an all you can eat Japanese buffet.The Miso soup they served was not quite as hot as I would like. The assortment and variety of Sushi was amazing. There were also non sushi options available. The tempura vegetables were very nice -- not...overly oily.More

We started using their carryout option several years ago. It was good in the beginning, changing to good-bad-bad-good. Lately it went downhill. My attempts to give them "second chance" for the third time led nowhere. Bad tasting sushi, five pieces instead of six, one chopstick,...cold pieces instead of freshly baked. Do not waste your money, just go elsewhere.More

We have eaten here before and it always has been great. The food was as good as ever, but the service was absolutely terrible this time. We plain were lied to when it came to following up on slow orders.

My first time to this Hinode. I had been many times when Hinode was in Frederick and enjoyed it. Today I met my aunt for the lunch buffet. $15.95 all you can eat sushi and many, many other dishes including tempura, various fresh salads, sesame...chicken, grilled vegetables, etc etc etc. What a great deal! The food is good and fresh, especially the sushi. I was quite impressed at all the different types of sushi/nigiri/rolls offered. I definitely left feeling quite satiated. I highly recommend coming here for the lunch buffet for sure! It is absolutely worth $15.95. The only caveat is the parking situation. Parking at Congressional Plaza is extremely hard to find especially during lunch rush. I would probably recommend trying to come at around opening time which is before noon, I believe. Or else, come after the lunch rush. Still, I recommend Hinode. Management is very kind and welcoming even if perhaps a server may be a bit curt because it can get pretty busy & hectic at lunch.More

Very popular wide buffet at lunch with smal group of chines buffet choices. Lots of sushi/sashimi choices. Quality and taste is above average and reasonably priced. Pleasant wait staff. Also have menu to choose from. Low noise level so conversations are easy. Good go to...place but there are more tasty alternatives in area.More
