We had a very good dinner, eating outside, at this classic Maryland crab house. On a Friday we had no trouble getting a seat outdoors at 530, but when we left at 730 they were packed. Our server, Sharon, was great, and, as this was...our first visit, explained the menu and offered several suggestions. We were in no hurry, so started with the fried pickles, which were great, all the while enjoying the house pale ale. Sharon didn’t rush us, and that was great. We watched the boats and the people. We initially thought of having the seafood trio (crab cake, scallops and shrimp), but decided to have one order of scallops and one broiled crab cake. Both were excellent. Later Sharon started describing the desserts, but we had her stop as soon as she mentioned the Smith Island Cake, which we shared. The evening was moderately priced (particularly by Baltimore prices), and fun. The food was very good, but not superb, and, sitting on the deck, we used plastic utensils (which we were told was Granny’s silverware). This is not fancy (shorts and t-shirts everywhere). But a very good way to spend the evening.More
