It was a nice and cozy evening. The waiter was attentive. The food was just ok. It was very expensive and I probably will not go back because of the price.

Our foursome enjoyed our holiday lunch by the fireside, for a festive event. The menu is eclectic with many items unfamiliar to me. Pricey. The service is quite good and there was a choice of dining rooms. Customers with mobility limitations have the option to...More

Everyone in my group enjoyed their Christmas Eve meals, but I thought $85 per person was definitely too much. The pea soup was outstanding, and the duck breast was very good. Those who had the steak (filet mignon?) gobbled them down. It's a charming spot,...More

Four of us ate here for their Christmas Eve special dinner, selected prix fix menu for $85, included salad/soup, entre and dessert...overpriced. All meals had problems, one She Crab Soup had too many shells pieces, replaced with Caesar Salad. The Pear salad was good size...More

A pretty fall day and I head to one of the canal locks to ride my bike. I always like to stop at Old Anglers after a long ride, enjoy a cocktail in the beer garden and enjoy talented live music. I sometimes split a...More

We took friends here for their first visit and they had a fantastic time. The rack of lamb was outstanding and they enjoyed a Chateaubriand for two that was mouthwatering and fork tender. The service was very attentive while providing us with the privacy and...More

This was my firs trip to this restaurant, and it won't be my last. The restaurant was kind enough to accommodate a large group of business colleagues for a dinner. Despite the large group, the service was very good, as was the food. The menu...More

Lunch outside on a temperate day in November is to be cherished. It was lovely. Nice patio and tables far enough apart that there was privacy. My Santa Fe chicken salad had avacados, corn, tortilla strips and lettuce in a spicy dressing. It was good,...More

Eating lunch out doors at this restaurant, we (and many others) moved tables to try to escape from the bees. However, they followed the food wherever we went. This spoiled eating outside on a nice day. They should locate what is causing bees to swarm...More

The Old Angler's Inn is tucked in a hill side surrounded by the C&O Toe Path with nature trails. The restaurant has a cozy bar downstairs, outside seating and private rooms upstairs. We recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner and were spoiled by the amazing staff.

Description
A most charming dining spot, the Old Angler's Inn has been immortalized in countless Washington D.C. novels as a romantic winter getaway, sitting before the fireplace and perusing the menu. It is equally glorious in the summer when the main action moves to the incomparable terrace.
