Stopped here at the recommendation of a local friend for the brunch. We were on our way to a wedding and this stop was just what the doctor ordered. We all got brunch in some form or another. We all also ordered a round of...the mimosas with a shot of vodka in them. Did I mention w/ purchase of an entree you can purchase a traditional mimosa for $.01 ? Steak and eggs, French toast, crab cake eggs Benedict were all great. The tater tots and mozzarella bites were nice as well.More

My friend Ralph found Bassett's while researching spots where we could have lunch after hiking on Sugarloaf Mountain. We're both from metro DC, so this was outside our usual territory. He suggested it partly for its menu, knowing I abstain from eating red meat, and...partly for its location, given that I'd be taking White's Ferry over to VA. In both respects, it fit the bill perfectly. We were seated under a huge tent with tables well distanced from each other. Ralph started with a butternut squash soup, we both chose salads and shared an order of home-made onion rings. We appreciated the unhurried ambience, attentive service and scrumptious food, and would happily return.More

Spinach dip was delicious. The hand cut fries are super crispy crunchy! Quiet, friendly restaurant with an attached sun room/patio and separate bar.

Made a late decision on a Friday afternoon to visit Bassett's and sure glad we did. Had reservations at 6PM, was just a bit late because of the foot traffic attending the Christmas festival and was seated right away. Waitstaff was spot on with orders...and a bit of engaging chatter. Food was quick, delicious, and the bill was very reasonable. Will be back.More

In Poolesville, right in there little downtown area. Great bar with a lot of seating and a bunch of high tops, regular restaurant seating with a ton of tables. Just went, it was really good, plenty of craft beers, liquor and bottles of beer. Got...the Caesar salad with chicken which is HUGE, seriously big enough for two, also had the chicken noodle soup, it could of been a tad hotter but really good also. They had a $8 wing special, 10 wings and a mini pitcher of bud, miller lite. Also the chicken or steak and cheese is really good and the fries here are amazing. Bartenders are really good, always checking on you, plenty of TV's and outside seating in the summer. Definitely should hit this place again, try it you will like it.More

After a walk on the C&O Canal at the Monocacy Aqueduct, we stopped for lunch at Bassett's. Bassette's, or its predecessors, have been located at the crossroads in Poolesville for decades. The decor is definitely"country inn," with lots of prints and paintings of birds and...dogs. We were seated at a very comfortable booth, and ordered draft beers from their very good selection. The menu covers both comfort food, such as the sauteed Calves Liver with bacon, fried onions, gravy mashed potatoes, and green beans, to the more modern and lighter Quinoa Avocado Wrap. Ok, the wrap came with an order of fries, but my wife gave it two thumbs up. It's been ages since I've eaten liver, and Bassett's version is perfect, particularly with the smoky, chewy bacon. The server was friendly and efficient, and the bill was less than $50 for both. Would come back again in a heartbeat.More

Went here for a late lunch on a weekday, based on a recommendation from someone who lives in the area. It was a pleasant place. We sat in the enclosed porch area on the front. The waitress was nice and prompt, except it took a...while for the check to arrive. The menu had a lot of choices and the typical pub food was good.More

Went to facets for lunch on Saturday afternoon. Ate at the bar because we were just back from fishing. The brunch menu was still on lots of things sounded delicious. The bartender did not know the menu items. I asked if the corned beef hash...for the breakfast was the same as the corned beef for the Reuben and she did not know the answer. Assuming a restaurant that stocked corned beef would not use canned corned beef hash I ordered the corned beef hash. Big mistake! The corned beef hash arrived in a 4 inch cast iron skillet with canned corned beef as the main ingredient a few slices of green pepper and onion had been sauteed in. It sat in grease to the top of the skillet. It was topped with 2 over hard eggs even though I had ordered over easy. The rye toast was soggy with "butter" that wasn't real butter. The other items that came to the table were just average.More

Yes. There is a ramp up to the door. There are, however, a number of rugs inside that one has to be careful of crossing.
