We didn't try the all you can eat crabs, but I wish I did. The crabs looked great coming out of the kitchen, and they were bringing fresh bushels of live crabs into the restaurant. Will definitely try next time. Instead, I had a crab cake. It was okay, a little too salty. Would have preferred more lump meat instead... More

Had the crabs twice this season at Mug and Mallet. I would have to say they are some of the best and sweetest crabs I've ever had. The "crab catcher" was there the 2nd time and he told about how they were caught just a bay away and it was an awesome experience.

I'm not sure it gets much better than cracking crabs open on the OC boardwalk. And Mugs and Mallets prepared them great. Theresa Rose is an attentive and friendly waitress. This is our second visit and I know we won't miss it when we go back

I've been here before but not for a few years. Their menu has changed a bit since I was last here around 2010. Previously their food was ok, I prefer another place for crabs. This year I saw they have fried hard crab on the menu which I've always wanted to try, it was fantastic! Our waitress was quick and... More

We went there for the crabs but discovered that not only were the crabs excellent but the shrimp and the snow- crab legs were wonderful as well! The side of corn on the cob was especially sweet and a welcomed change from traditional sides. My mother is in a wheelchair and they were so accommodating- they actually brought us in... More

Awful experience. Ordered a dozen crabs, which came out within minutes. They were all filled with water, which caused the meat to become mushy. Showed the crabs to our waitress who reassured us that she would have another dozen made fresh for us. When the crabs came out most of them were missing all legs, and all of them were... More

It's hard to mess up craps. Very tasty and fun place to eat. The kids enjoyed cracking their crabs with the mallets.

Great place to eat right on the boardwalk, always a little bit of a wait but worth it once you get your dinner and drinks

A few years ago I went here and had crabs for the first time, they were awesome. Went this year and was highly disappointed. I got the all you can eat crabs, ate about a dozen--well attempted. Most of the crabs I got were very mushy. It was really gross. I did have a few good ones. The seating is... More
