Jumbo crabs and great service. Our usual, preferred servers weren’t available when we decided on steamed crabs for an impromptu lunch, but Lauren S was great. We lucked out getting a dozen jumbos and they were perfectly steamed, full and flavorful.
We wanted seafood takeout and decided to try steam pots. They were excellent. We ordered Alaskan Crab Legs, Jumbo Shrimp, Clams and Mussels. Also included corn on the cob and potatoes. I highly recommend The Crab Bag.
This restaurant came highly recommended and it was a bit disappointing. The dining room had an unpleasant odor( not from food) and we waited a very long time for waitress to take our order. I ordered a steam pot and the potatoes and corn were...not even cooked. High prices for mediocre food at bestMore
Rarely get to Maryland but on this trip I looked forward to some steamed Crabs. The Crab Bag was recommended by a local so I went. I ordered 6 Jumbo Crabs, they were big, well seasoned and tasty, $87.50, seems a little much, almost $15.00...per Crab but that's what it was. I ordered a side of Coleslaw, nice size portion but it was all Mayo, kind of gross. What goes great with Crab, maybe some onion rings or french fries, I asked the waitress if the onion rings were made on premises and she said no they were frozen, same with the french fries so my thoughts are since there are a lot of fried items on the menu the great probability is they are mostly frozen, not made on the premises and can probably be found in the frozen food section at Costco. I was still hungry after the Crabs so I ordered a Crab cake sandwich, $22.00 served with a side of potato chips and a $1.50 upgrade for frozen French Fries if you want, out came the sandwich with a ball shaped Crab cake sitting on a roll, no Mayo, no Tartare sauce, a sliced of tomato that had been around for awhile and limp a piece of lettuce. The potato roll was very good, the crab cake had an herb in it that hide the crab taste, not worth the money or calories, I didn't finish it. I won't go back but shame on them for serving frozen food, I am sure you can find a place in OC that takes pride in their food.More
So i will start with the ok...GF had crabs and they were solid...on the small side even tho she ordered the bigger ones...large i think...
Now the bad...i ordered crab legs in a steam pot...this was plain awful. The crab legs were impossible to eat...and not prepared properly...the steam pot had a couple potatoes...and a horrible ear of corn...and that's it...taste bad....quality bad...value bad...
Even worse the bartender could clearly see i was unhappy...and couldn't have cared less... That's the worst part with his much as we were spending for dinner he couldn't careless that we were having a bad timing experience...never again.More
As frequent diners and locals, in the summer we come for steamed crabs every 2-4 weeks, if not more often. Emily has become our favorite server and we always request her now. She’s outgoing, knows what we like, when we need beverages refilled and is...personable without hovering. On the rare occasion Emily isn’t working, we’ve also had excellent service from Rachel. It’s not just about eating crabs - it’s an experience.More
Ordered steamed clams, they came to us cold after 25 minutes. Sent them back for fresh ones. They put the same broken shell clams on different colored plates and warmed them up. Ordered a burger medium and it came out well done. Drinks were good,...but it's hard to mess up a draft beer.More
