Great views of lake, attentive waitress, split checks for 5 couples and food was much better than other reviews. I had salmon salad with plenty of bleu cheese (excellent), wife had tuna (grilled to perfection), other couple had the prime rib sandwich (excellent), Sheppard's Pie was very hearty, and prices were all reasonable. This was one of our better dining experiences in one week's travel. Place was clean and plenty of parking.

Best meal I’ve had out in a very long time ordered the pork shank and I knew with first bite it was going to be special. Large portions had the leftovers for lunch and it was still wonderful!
Husband got the salmon salad and again it was too much food so we got 2 meals for the price of one great service and view

As Deep Creek Lake residents, my wife and I generally avoid restaurants during the busy summer tourist season. With summer over, we tried the Wednesday Pasta Night at Ace's Run. We were not expecting such a fun experience!
The chef creates your custom pasta dish right in front of you - kinda like making you a custom omelet at a breakfast bar. Plenty of choices of ingredients, sauces and pasta.
They allow you two trips to the bar, but it's difficult to imagine an appetite which would allow that.

Beautiful setting, I will give it that, but the service experience left so much to be desired, and that is why it gets two stars. The food was very good, once we got it. The cocktails were not good. The strangest margarita I’ve ever had - it tasted like Hi-C orange drink, salt and water! Our waitress was very scattered and kept forgetting to bring our drinks and water, even after a couple of reminders. The entrees were generously sized, and tasty, but the experience was not what we had hoped for.

Very good food and wonderful service! Was here for a birthday celebration. It was a Wednesday, and they feature a Pasta bar on this day. It's 2 trips and you pick your pasta, veggies, other meat or chicken toppings (seafood for a little extra), and sauce. You get two trips and it's only $21 ! I had a seafood linguine which was very good. Nice size portions too.

We picked Ace's Run Restaurant for Dinner the second night we were there. Their menu was very appealing. Strong in Seafood. We were celebrating our 40th Anniversary. We were seated at the window and the view of the lake was spectacular!. The server explained that there were a number of price changes and items unavailable due to the current market. They were having a hard time getting crab. I ordered the Seafood Sauté. They added more shrimp to make up for the missing crab. It was loaded with seafood! It tasted fabulous. Well worth the price. The server was at our table a lot checking on us and our food even though he had a large amount of guest. The atmosphere was very nice. The only thing I could say that wasn't the greatest was the decorating - the lights reminded you of a 80's hotel in the Poconos. But I would definitely go back for their food. They did a great job.

Close friends bragged about this place as a go-to for good food.
Did take-out. No one was in the restaurant when I arrived so you would think that the kitchen would be able to prepare a good meal. Boy was I wrong.
Ordered pork chop and seafood pasta. Pork chop was not fully cooked and was raw next to the bone. It was sitting in what appeared to me an oily greasy concoction. Mashed potatoes were almost runny and green beans were chewy.
Pasta was also in the same greasy concoction. Shrimps were off tasting and scallops were brown one side, almost raw on the other.
The plate looked like it had been thrown together.
Had way overpriced chocolate cake.
Huge ($100) disappointment.

Great place. Came in around 3:30 & was seared outside on deck overlooking Deep Creek Lake. Great atmosphere. They were very cautious and had all protocols for Covid. Waiter was great at checking in on us throughout the time we were there. We ordered 2 drinks & 2 apps. The lemon martini had too much lemon flavor (sounds silly but was that artificial tasting lemon - not fresh) and wasn’t smooth but rather tart. The other drink was a combo of elderberry, cucumber, mint and was delicious. The duck wontons were great as were the cheese curds. For the main dishes a seafood pasta was ordered that was amazingly fresh and a great deal! The prime rib dip sandwich (sans bread) was also ordered and wasn’t anything special, but was tasty. It wasn’t crowded and all food came out in lightening speed. Definitely put it on your list to try if on the area. Great experience overall.

This was a very poor dining experience. I ordered the shepherds’s pie along with a Caesar salad. The salad was acceptable - nothing special. The shepherd’s pie was below average and seemed to have a sort of unpleasant flavor to the gravy, which is a bit hard to describe. Just wasn’t very satisfying.
The service wasn’t bad - just a bit lackadaisical. I was never offered water, asked how anything was, or asked if I wanted another beer. There was also a pile of menus (along with a used lemon slice and a dirty napkin) that was sort of encroaching where I was sitting at the bar. The bartender made a small effort to straighten them out but then gave up, finding the effort not worth the time, I guess. A waitress there also attempted the same seemingly insurmountable task with the same result.
On the upside, the beer was fine. Hard to screw that up.
I wasn’t impressed and doubt you’ll be, either.

I would have given this restaurant a better review if not for the horrible meal my husband had. The restaurant is a little old and worn, but there is a cozy feel, an excellent view of the lake, and the wait staff is friendly. I got a mushroom ravioli dish that was very good. My husband ordered a New York strip steak that from start to finish was tough, gristly, and in his own words, the worst he had ever eaten. And this was coming from a 73 year old man who has eaten many. After a few bites, the server came and asked if all was OK. My husband complained about the steak but added that hopefully it would get better as he continued to eat. To her credit, the server asked if he wanted to get something else, but he declined, hoping, as I said that it would get better. Unfortunately it got worse, and less than half of the steak was edible. We will never return.

Not your average food. It’s not perfect every time, don’t get me wrong, but this is real food. Great creativity from the chef to make fun food that is a pleasure to eat, not only due to amazing flavor and taste, but in presentation. I’m actually always intrigued by the texture which some people don’t consider. Everything always seems to have an unexpected twist. A little crunch here. A little sweet there. A spice that suddenly takes a bite out of you instead of the inverse. I truly enjoy every experience here. And lakeside?!? Love it.

I appreciate that they are social distancing on the restaurant side. We wanted to eat outside but the waitress warned us of gnats on that particular evening, so we enjoyed the lovely view from inside. The fried dill pickles were good and plentiful. I also recommend the jumbo garlic buttah shrimp & cream of crab soup appetizers and the crab cake dinner.

After having many mediocre meals at other local restaurants this was a breath of fresh air. I had the glazed salmon Cobb salad, my son had the crab cake sandwich, delmonico steak, pork chop,. All are very delicious, well proportioned, and served quick. The views are beautiful. We didn't sit outside because I was on the chilly side but there's a lot of Windows you can view the outside . We went on Labor Day with covid-19... and were seated quickly...I would definitely go back. There were six in our party..

We were looking for some place to grab light lunch/appetizers and stumbled across this place. It had good reviews decided to try but failed. The restaurant has great views. There was a limited menu and asked about some dietary restrictions. Our server was super friendly and energetic but limited menu knowledge. We shared the garlic buttah shrimp, i ordered a side of Mac n cheese (no flavor or anything special) and he had the brown butter scallops (very tasty) our shrimp were initially served undercooked, lots of flavor when returned to the table.
Overpriced for mediocre food. Price not worth the view.

I had a very good Mojito while waiting to be seated. We were told that it would be 15-20 minutes until a table would be available, it was actually 30-35 minutes. Once seated it took over a hour to get our food. The only saving grace is the food was good. Not convinced I will return.
