The crabs were full and flavorful the beer ice cold, we went mid week so crowds were not a problem, great evening with friends.

Loved this place. The Seafood is so good. Get to relax and enjoy a nice cold drink on the beach and stick your feet on the water. The waiters are so friendly.

Gilligan's is a fun place to go for drinks and music in the summer time. The food is just so-so. Lots of fried food, nothing special.

Not bad but not too good, this restaurant is at the Potomac river and Pope’s creek, you can feel this sensation of being on Vacation at a tropical island, it has a nice private beach and a beautiful view of the river, but the service...is very unorganized, when we arrived we asked to be sited at the beach and we clearly notice the waitress disagreement on her face, probably because that means walking further to serve, so we sat outside anyway and probably this was the reason why they took so long to ask for our drinks, we had so much time that we got all of our order ready when they got there. Food was not the best, we did liked the corn hush puppies but my scallops where a little bit soggy. So if you are looking for good views for photos this is the place, but for food? Maybe not.More

Love stopping in here. Great bands on the weekends. You can sit and have drink with your toes in the water. Play volley ball, drive up on your motorcycle, boat, or in your car. Eclectic, laid back atmosphere. The food is always good, sometimes great....But it does very a bit, same with the service. I have never had bad food or service, but it has ranged from outstanding to just alright. It is the place, and location that make it a hidden gem to stop in.More

I was recently visiting from Montana and had the good fortune to hear about Gilligan’s Pier from some friends. Craving seafood I set out with the same friends for this lovely destination. We parked and I immediately knew that I was going to have a...great experience. Walked in, was seated and embarked on a culinary odyssey. For an appetizer I highly recommend the hot crab dip...it’s “last meal” amazing! Moved on to the “extreme feast” and “captains platter.” (Pictured below). Both were amazing and exactly what I’d been craving. As the names my have implied, there was plenty of food which left no room for dessert. The evening was concluded with a walk along the Potomac on their private beach complete with drink-shack and sand volleyball area. My only regret is that I hadn’t come on a Saturday night in July! Lastly I’d like to thank our amazing server. She was very helpful with selecting our appetizer and never let us run out of beer. I have regretfully forgotten your name (she’s an Army reservist though!) I will be back next time I’m in Maryland!More

Perfect atmosphere for a 'beach' bar!!! The day we were at Gilligans, there was a fun band playing and ice cold drinks in the beach bar... We enjoyed sitting on the tables in the water and cooling off! What could be better??? well, for me...it was the Fried scallops!!! All of the food we (4 of us all ordered different things) tried was fantastic! For me though, the Scallops were the best!More

We went to Gilligan's for my sister's birthday dinner since she wanted seafood and good drinks. This is definitely the place for good drinks; the swamp water and orange crush are delicious! Anyhow, my first thought is that this place needs some sprucing up, and...has needed it for years. The ladies' restroom is dim and has a big hole next to one sink where people throw trash. A little fixing up would make it so much nicer. Also, the 1/2 booth where we were sitting was uneven, the table kept tilting, and the booth cushion kept lifting up. These are little annoyances that just require some TLC! Back to the service/food... we waited a long time before our server came over (the hostess apologized) but once he came over, he provided us great service. We had a variety of seafood and drinks and the only complaint I heard from the table was that the fries weren't good. I enjoyed the crabs, onion rings, and hush puppies. We also enjoyed playing Keno with dinner although the dining room needs a couple more screens for that. The outside area is great with the sand, tiki bar, and crush station. We are non-smokers so the smoke was a little annoying but we couldn't really avoid it. Anyhow, we like this place. It's not the best but it's a fun atmosphere. I hope the management reads reviews because some things would be pretty easy to fix!More

Not so much - food was nothing special - old feel not specifically good or bad just not stand out. Maryland Crab Soup reminded me of Campbell’s Veggie Soup with suspended lumps of crab. Fried scallops were ok. House salad was poorly presented with less...than palatable tomatoes and lettuce. Overpriced and feels dirty - view is the only thing going for this placeMore
