I have recently spent two nights at this hotel in a very historic village. Room was comfortable, food was outstanding for a little Auberge, pleasant staff. The only downside: the Auberge is located on a main road therefore a lot of non-stop traffic, day and night. Good luck for sleeping! Also, a garden with a terrasse would be very handy... More

We spent 2 nights at this delightful little hotel, eating in the restaurant on both evenings. Our room was very comfortable and furnished in a slightly quirky manner which nevertheless complimented this lovely old building. The restaurant was excellent: a range of menus, all local produce, beautifully cooked and presented, and reasonably priced. The wine list is extensive. Service is... More

We found this restaurant whilst looking for the Hotel Akena. It was a Saturday evening and we returned without a reservation at 7:00 pm. They had a birthday party on but still managed to squeeze us in. My starter was the Camembert which is in a white wine sauce with Lardons. Excellent. My wife's main course was superb. However you... On holiday in the area and had the most superb meal at this unassuming Auberge in the charming little town of Montsalvy-which is well worth a visit on its own. We dined from the mid priced menu of three, all of which have a variety of options, and were impressed with the quality and presentation of the meals. Such was... More

We visit the region most years and have a couple of meals here because this is one of my favourite restaurants of all time! During peak season it is best to book in advance. Giselle always remembers us and greets us warmly and children are most welcome. There is no translation on the menu and the staff don't speak English,... More

This review relates to the restaurant only. This establishment provides a very good auberge experience and is one of the best in this area of the Cantal. The food served is of high quality and quantity and is well presented. Cost wise you can get a lovely four course meal for less than £30 which is a win-win all the... More

Quiet unassuming establishment - very typically French! We had a quiet drink in the bar and then progressed into the restaurant which was much more pleasing to the eye. The Maitre d' was very accomplished and totally unfazed by our dietary needs. Something to be proud bearing in mind the type of restaurant. We had the most fantastic dining experience... More

We absolutely LOVED this place. My partner, daughter and I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend we were visiting in the area. She and her french husband eat here quite regularly. The location was fabulous, the rooms absolutely gorgeous and so comfortable. Our hosts were friendly and accomodating with local information and we ate twice at the restaurant... More

Went here several times during our last visit to the area and will be going back on our next trip. One of the best about and absolutely rammed...the 'menu of the day' is always glorious and really good value.......dont get there no later that 2.30 for lunch or you wont get served....if you can get a table.
