Disappointed in crab cake

Although it was expensive, I was looking forward to having a crab cake for dinner. My “jumbo” crab cake was very small, and had absolutely no flavor. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.

Not my best visit here!

First, the server didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. Then, the omelet I ordered seemed smaller than usual and the portion of breakfast potatoes was less. Not my favorite meal.

EARLY DINNER OUTSIDE

My wife and i stopped here again (been here 4-5 times) after a baby shower party nearby. We were seated outside near one of the gas heaters which we appreciated since it was getting a little chillier. All of the arriving guests had masks as did the hostess and servers. We both had a burger and waffle fries both of which were excellent although my wife had to send her burger back since she ordered it well done. No big deal since that can happen at any good restaurant. I asked for a craft beer that may taste like Yuengling and they gave me a sampler so that I liked and ordered a 16 ounce beer. Very tasty!I Our server, Marissa, was great!

Good food, Great menu!

We visited here for the first time while visiting our daughter this past week. We liked it so much that we returned two nights later for another meal. It's a nice cozy restaurant with friendly staff and some really nice variety in their menu. I had the chicken pot pie on the first visit and we returned to try the pizza. The food was good on both occasions and my husband enjoyed the nice selection of beer. I recommend the orange crush too. We plan to visit again and try the breakfast which is available all day. And they do have covered seating outside for those who prefer that.

Fish and chips under cooked

My first time eating here and I ordered one of my favorites, fish and chips, as a carry out. The young woman at the hostess desk must have been new as she asked if I wanted French fries with that. I informed her that fish and chips included fries. The helping was generous- a large piece of haddock, all in one piece. There in lies the problem. The fish was under cooked with the batter being pasty, not crisp over most of the piece. It was only crispy on the ends. The fries were ok,being a blend of crisp and soft. The price was high for the quality of the meal.

I’ve eaten here several times ☹️

I’ve eaten here several times for brunch, but the last 2 times I’ve had bad experiences. First time, we ate in the bar. The tables don’t seem to be far enough apart and had a table next to us for four but a fifth person joined them with no mask. The language was disgusting and loud. I must say the bloody Mary’s were good and food delicious. We got omelettes, well prepared. Second time, we sat upstairs for brunch, bloody Mary’s not as good and seem smaller. We were a table that people continually walked past us, ( less than 6 ft apart) we’re not wearing a mask being seated but it was uncomfortable that people could be so close! One time a family’s teen son wasn’t wearing his mask at all, as they were being seated! How did they allow that!!! The fact they had ketchup, sugar, menus... everything someone else may have touched! The food this time served barely warm and poached eggs and omelette no taste. Overall, guess it depends who the cook/bartenders are... and beware if you’re hoping this restaurant is taking precautions during COVID... THEY ARE NOT! Seem more interested in crowds than safety concerns and comfortable atmosphere.

Local Feel & Good Deal

Located in a strip mall just outside the nice part of town this place surprised us. We were looking for a restaurant with outside dining and this popped up on Yelp. It looked fairly new and they have tables on a deck and a tent in the front. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional. The menu was essentially pub food with their specialty item : wood-fired pizzas. They have an outstanding selection of Maryland craft beers along with the usual selections. The wine list was good. They offer some great salads. And there are some surprise entrees like meat loaf and veggies. You can definitely find something to meet your taste and everything is reasonably priced. And every evening they have drink specials. And they are apparently quite popular for breakfast. All in all, the place felt like the kind of eatery where the locals like to go -- most of the diners seemed to know the staff on a first name basis.

Nice restuarant in little Maryland town

Ate here with friends who live in this town for lunch. I had French Dip and my brother had meatball sub. Our friends had breakfast. The food was decent and service was good. They have a bar attached and you can even have a little party in their meeting room. You cannot stay overnight here so I am not sure why they call it an Inn even though from outside it looks like an INN. Would eat here again if visiting my friends

Identity Crisis

As restaurant week continues I didn’t know what to expect when I chose this place to dine. From the outside the building is in a new looking strip. When I hear the word ‘Inn’ in a business name I conjure up a rustic stopover with sleeping accommodations. When I see the word “Grille” in a name I anticipate upscale food prepared over a flame as opposed to in an oven. “Pizza” nowadays can be had everywhere you turn as it is a high profit ad on to any food business. The special week menu had 4 highly varied selections which frankly none of them seemed to be anything special. I ordered the Cioppini, a San Francisco seafood stew which I had eaten once before many years ago when visiting Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. As I waited for my food to come I checked out the interior of the place. When you enter there is a large modern ornate flagstone fireplace which would fit into the Inn part of the name. Beyond that I felt like I was in the neighborhood pizzeria. It was a Monday night which is $3 off burger night which might explain why it was so busy in there. I was pleased to learn that their pizza oven was a wood fired brick oven which is something I like a lot if the ingredients they put into it are any good. Maybe because of burger night but I was amazed that not a single pizza was served my entire time there. My observation of the burgers were they weren’t much. In fact I saw a lot of unappealing food during my short visit. The place is very family friendly which had more kids dining in there than I was anticipating. I like kids but not when I’m eating. My dish arrived in a small cast iron Dutch oven accompanied by a basket of pita bread slices. No vegetables. No salad. About the only good thing I can say about my meal is it was served hot. It was served without a spoon even though it was supposed to be a stew which usually require one which they did bring me when I asked for it. The dish was devoid of seasoning. Not at all what I remembered it to be like. Though the dish description said it had scallops amongst the other seafood listed I found none in my serving. My waiter was polite and courteous and his service was good. The problem with places that try to be too many things is they don’t do any of them exceptionally well.

FAMILY DINNER AT MT AIRY INN

Our son and daughter in law and two grand daughters were visiting from San Diego and we selected this restaurant as one we thought they would enjoy as we have had good experiences there in the past. They were very happy here. The server, Renee, was very attentive. The food portions were great. This place has a very extensive menu. We had everything from fish tacos to mac and cheese for the kids. We had 6 people and asked for the big round table in the front window. Our son enjoyed a few of the craft beers they offer here. Everything was wonderful. We recommend this place when in Mt Airy.

Easter Brunch

We made reservations 2 days before Easter. We were greeted with smiles and seated quickly. The waitress came to our table promptly and told about the specials and took our drink order. We enjoyed Bloody Mary's and a wonderful brunch/lunch meal. The food was prepared perfectly and delicious.

Surprisingly welcoming

Well, we were traveling with our dog, and they made us comfortable having her lie with us on the deck. (She was good and did not bother people for attention). Despite the name, this is not a fancy inn, it is a strip mall restaurant. The food was all decent but not memorable. We had Maryland crab soup, waffle fries, and a fried oyster sandwich.
