Excellent meal as always. I had the Salmon and it was excellent. I have been going here for four years and it has always been great.

We typically visit Ocean Pride at least 6 times over the summer and often for carry out crabs. Last Friday we dined in, and our dinner tab was for 2 people and total $283.00 for 18 crabs, one cup of soup and - 4 beers...and a drink. Without telling us during the reservation call and once seated that they added 20% total $45 tip to our bill. I grew up in the hotel and bar business and waitressed for many years. We tip well but somehow for what we received in both food and in service $283.00 is expensive and it was not worth the money! For this kind of cash I want filet and lobster and white table cloth dining. Go elsewhere its just so expensive for what you get. We won't be back and over the weekend shared our experience and friends said they won't go there anymore either. We have all been hit by Covid and by inflation but when you charge these kinds of prices the patrons deserve to know upfront. Bye Bye Ocean Pride!More

On entering Ocean Pride one can turn right for the bar area or left for the dining rooms. I wasn't sure where my friends would be sitting so I turned right first. I was greeted by friendly staff behind the bar on which was a...tempting display of iced down shell fish. The staff pointed me to the dining area with my mind made up that I would start my meal with oysters on the half shell. The main dining area was plain, well lit, and spacious. Just right for the people at tables pounding away at dozens of steamed crabs. I met my group and were encouraged by the well organized server to start our orders. For our appetizers the Salt Pond oysters were plump with just the right saltiness. The lightly fried calamari was perfect in taste and texture. The cream of crab soup was smooth and golden. Our iced tea was regularly refilled. Two of us had the slider plate that consisted to tasty shrimp salad, mini crab cake and fried shrimp on small buns and a generous portion of French fries. The cajun chicken sub had a crispy chicken breast topped with bacon. My own rockfish special was topped with Fresh crab meat lumps and a delicious sayse highlighted by red and green peppers. My two sides of cucumber/tomato/feta salad and potato salad complimented the flaky white fish. Finally, the home made key lime pie was made as a 6 inch diameter pie with loads of whipped cream. We were very pleased with the taste, portions, prices, and service.More

I love this restaurant. I drive from Oakton, Virginia to meet friends for dinner. Have been many times, the most recent being last night. Kim is our favorite server. Food and service are always excellent.

We visited the area this weekend and wanted to try something local and decided on here. It's on the main thoroughfare and has plenty of parking. It has a separate dining room and bar area, so look out for that when you enter the first...door because I certainly didn't see a sign directing to either. The cream of crab had a great base to make it a satisfying soup. They have a large menu with prices are reasonable. We agreed that we would come back, for the soup,😂 if we're in the area. The staff was friendly and responsive.More

The place smelled bad. The bar tender was slow and the take out section sent me to the bar to pay. I live in lutherville and I can not fathom why anyone would eat here. Dirty and unkept. The entrance way is filthy. The local...Royal Farms Store is cleaner. Lastly why are take out prices on beer not posted ? Is it do they can charge whatever the bar tender feels like that day ?More

This is one of my favorite places in North Baltimore County. Nothing fancy - just cold beer, hot crabs, and great steamed shrimp.

One of our party had been here years ago and that drove our visit. On arrival, the exterior looked very nice recently redone. The entranceway less inviting with dirt on the door frame. Inside, the bar on the right was busy, but the entrance to...the dining room not clear. We went left and then right to a hostess station. She asked us crabs or dinner? We said dinner and were taken across a very dirty rug and down two steps. Hello management, that rug needs to go. There were a few parties in the restaurant and we sat down in front of a large screen. The channel selected was a gold coin show where you can buy an American Eagle for only two payments of $1,699. Odd choice for entertainment. Our server Casie was friendly. She took our drink orders and returned with the wine. We selected soups and entrees. The soup arrived quickly and was NOT hot. It should be much warmer or you should warm the bowls. The Crab vegetable was good, seemed to be made in house and had some bite. After an appropriate wait, the entrees came out. My crab cake was large chunks and little filler. It had some seasoning, but again should be hot. The fries looked good, but were soggy. The cole slaw was the best thing in my order. We also got an order of the house made Old Bay potato chips. They were quite good. Entrees, soup and wine came to $40 a person before tip. That is pricey in my world. For that I expect piping hot food, a cleaner floor and not a gold coin show.More

Nice spot for a decent meal. I typically eat in the bar area and it’s always busy. They have great specials and Thursday is steak night. Great deal and delicious steak, fries and salad.

I'm really unsure why people like this establishment or even has good reviews. We had the cream of crab soup which basically tasted like a roux soup with two small pieces of crab. Then we had raw oysters and these were good. I had the...trio of sliders and it was a sad entree basically slapped together with no flavor or anything remarkable. It was simply just a small crab cake, fried shrimp, and shrimp salad on three separate sliders But the worst was the oyster po boy. The oysters tasted as if they came from a can and a piece of shell was fried on it. The service was ok, no refills or anything offered. Truly this place had no good aspects for us, even the decor was outdated and run down. I think people like the prices which makes them think this establishment has good food, which it does not.More

Having patronized this restaurant on numerous occasions over decades, our high expectations at our late Oct 2019 visit were dashed by the harsh reality of a failing enterprise. The bar scene is lively, but the dining experience is dismal. Walking past the restrooms on our...way to the dining room, we were enveloped in an exotic cloud of minty urinal deodorant, which wafted into the dining area and mingled with some other cloying vapor whose cause was of indeterminate origin; however, the scent called to mind a bad dirty joke involving a blind fisherman and a door on a tuna boat. The only relief was the delightful attentiveness of a very sweet young lady who took our order for drinks, starters and then the entree. I ordered the steamed mussels as an appetizer, and they were acceptable. Even so, they came without the little fork for digging the mussel out of the shell. I used a little plastic version which had served to spear the olives in my martini (which was a good martini, I will attest). But let us not dissemble, here, it is hard to get mussels wrong. And it should be hard to get scallops wrong, too, but somehow the kitchen managed to serve up to my partner broiled scallops which appeared to be more lightly poached, then broiled. Our nice server returned them to the kitchen for (we presumed) some searing, but the result was a barely browned finish. They looked kind of like something from a can. And those scallops were an alternative to the crab cakes which were my partner's FIRST choice, until we learned, to our dismay, that the crab meat was imported from somewhere in South America. And what the devil can THAT be about? The restaurant is just a few miles from the crab capitol of the universe --the Chesapeake. This just makes no sense. Meanwhile, I had opted for Shrimp Scampi, imagining that this was a dish that could not possibly be ruined. And it wasn't ruined. Rather, it was simply uninspired. I spent a few minutes chasing down smallish shrimp which were camouflaged in a tangle of linguini, which itself was most of the meal. But hey! The coleslaw was primo! We attempted to divert ourselves by ordering an entire bottle of the wine we had been drinking by the glass, so as to at least have something to do while we were mouth breathing in an attempt to ward off the stench which surrounded us and just could not be un-smelled. The prospect of dessert was appealing only as the break which allowed us to make our escape; we paid cash so as to make the hastiest exit we could. We should have known better. The empty dining room had the facial appeal of a place we could have all to our own. But the reason for the vacancy was perhaps owed to the toxic atmosphere which has effectively kept diners at bay. "Too bad," we thought. There was a day when this was really THE place for fresh from the docks seafood, in a cozy setting. Alas; that ship has sailed.More

I had some jumbo steamed shrimp that were perfectly steamed with onions that hit the...spot. The shrimp, cold beer and crew made for a nice evening out. Also met the manager Dom at the end of the night and he was quite friendly as well. Look forward to returning.More

As we walked in my daughter was like, what is that smell. If that is what steamed crabs smell like, I don't want to eat them. I have to say, it did smell like something was rotting. Later the waiter told us the freezer broke,...so maybe that was the smell? I don't know but it wasn't just the smell of fresh cooked seafood. We were visiting from PA and this was relatively close to our hotel. I wanted steamed crabs and this place had other options besides seafood since my husband isn't a fan of seafood. I should have known better. But he got ribs and they were just ok. Nothing great and his side of mac n cheese was creamy but not so tasty. Our crabs were very good, not heavily seasoned so it was good for my kids. They only had mediums left, which I think was kinda high priced at $65 a dozen. Still it satisfied my craving for them. However, as we were finishing up a mouse came scurrying through the dining room. The waiter tried to tell us that it was because there was a party outside and it must have gotten in when the doors were opened. No, I saw where it came from and it was the opposite side of the dining room. I can say, thank god it wasn't a roach or a rat. I would have walked out. The manager offered free dessert but it was late and we just wanted to go. My husband had to ask for something to be taken off the bill since we didn't want the dessert, that wasn't offered as an option when we declined dessert. Overall, the crabs were decent but not a place I would visit again.More
