Great atmosphere and service. However, the food wasn't all that I hoped. I'm going to blame it on it being close to closing time and a large party in house during our visit. I would most certainly go back to give it another chance just because of the atmosphere and service.

My son and I were so distracted by the low cut shirt our waitress had on we left without paying the bill. Her shirt was so low n tight you could see partial nipple. We do owe them for our meal, however we'll avoid the joint for at least 3 months so they don't prosecute us. Besides all that their... More

While I truthfully can't say I love this place, it is almost an icon in Laurel. Located at the end of Main Street which is a diverse, Mayberry-kind-of-street with several good places to stop in. Coffee shop, "boutiques", wedding gown store, florist, hair salons, you name it. Restaurant is mostly barbecue, needs some updating but food is okay. Kinda corral... More

Whenever I am on travel I like to ask the locals..."where do YOU eat". Well, Im a local in the Wash DC area and I, as a local, eat at Red Hot & Blue. Great ribs (dry or wet) and pulled pork to die for. Its inexpensive, quick, and delicious. Its where the locals go to eat around DC, Baltimore... More

If you want crunchy wings this is your spot! The rest of the food is great also but I'm a wing fan. The staff is great and the food comes fast.

I've been going to this Red Hot & Blue location for over 20 years and up until the last year or so, I've never had a complaint about anything there. However, the last few times that I've ordered the ribs, they have been very tough. I now get my ribs from another restaurant in the Laurel area!

We did a birthday dinner here and most of us had the ribs or brisket. All meals were tasty, tender and well prepared. Service was very good and the wait for dinner was short. Several great sauces for the ribs. I tried the Bourbon molasses; sweet and spicy. If you are looking for well prepared BBQ; this is a great... More

I went here today for Mother's Day. There was a line already formed before it opened. We ordered the chicken, brisket and pork. I was sorely disappointed with all three. The pork was barely heated, watery and tasteless as was the chicken. I wonder if we were given yesterday's reheated leftovers. I gave it two stars because the sides were... More

The service was great. The food was only so-so. I've eaten at the RHB located west of the Bay Bridge and the food was much better. Could be they were very busy. The kitchen looked small for the volume of customers

Description
Red Hot and Blue is a full-service, casual-themed restaurant chain and caterer featuring delicious award-winning ribs, Memphis-style barbeque, smoked wings, and Southern sides and desserts. The atmosphere is steeped in legendary and contemporary blues music and delivers a large dose of Southern hospitality in a fun and entertaining dining environment. History: The first Red Hot and Blue restaurant opened in Arlington, Virginia in 1988, started by Lee Atwater, Don Sundquist and friends. Don Sundquist was from Memphis and served in the House of Representatives and as governor of Tennessee. The late Lee Atwater was an amateur blues musician and political figure that managed George H.W. Bush's successful race for the presidency. These men were friends who longed for authentic Memphis-style barbeque and great blues music. Unable to find that combination anywhere in the Washington, DC area they decided the only way to get it done was to open a restaurant of their own. The Memphis-style barbeque chain celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2013 by partnering with a charitable organization at 24 different restaurant locations. The yearlong celebration culminated in the presentation of thousands of dollars in donations to local charities. The Name: The name, "Red Hot and Blue" is taken from the title of D.J. Dewey Phillip's radio show that that aired on WHBQ-AM in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s. This radio show launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and broadened the audience for artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray and Rufus Thomas. Red Hot & Blue Dine-In, Take-Out and Catering. Hickory-smoked Memphis-style BBQ, Ribs, Wings, Beef Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Seafood, Full-service Bar, in a Family-friendly atmosphere with a heapin' helpin' of Southern Hospitality!
