Large menu with lots of healthy, casual options including many gluten free and vegetarian choices. My son had and loved the salmon. I enjoyed the falafel wrap. The african, 2 bean soup was delicious and hearty. The restaurant itself has a bookstore and schedules live events like poetry slams, which looked interesting. There is a full bar with many craft... We've been there several times and have never had a bad meal. The food is good, prices are right, and the staff is quick and competent. The only drawback I can see is the noise level, sometimes it is difficult to hear what the person next to you is saying, much less someone further down the table.

This was my second visit to B&P. We chose to go on Sunday morning at 1100 and there was a 25 minute wait, but it was worth it. The breakfast choices range from traditional (eggs, homefries and toast) to unique (chicken omelette or Iraqi hash). The sweet potato pancakes are superior!

When I visited this place, is was to celebrate my daughter's graduation. We had so much fun as we were waiting for our table to be ready, we were... More

Had dinner here while visiting a friend in DC. I was blown away by the book store; specifically the social justice theme (I love that stuff!) Also, the design of the restaurant with its artwork, murals, etc. We had a slight wait before being seated so I just walked around and perused the restaurant. I was so enamored with everything,... Server was friendly & efficient. Food was fresh & tasty. Atmosphere was hip & trendy. Menu was modern soul food. Portions are generous. Good craft beer selection. Stack of old library books line one side of converted industrial space. Small bar.

Been here many times. Always great service, EXCELLENT food, and a unique dining experience. A range of different types of foods using unique ingredients- I am a huge fan and would recommend to anyone. Warning- this restaurant is popular and will likely have a wait around meal times. Plan accordingly

As a student at the University of Maryland, I go to Busboys and Poets often because its a right down the road. The food there is AMAZING, and it's a really cool atmosphere as well! It gets pretty packed on the weekends, so there's sometimes a wait for a table. They have a really cool library where you can kill... More

This is a wonderful neighborhood resource. The menu is great and the interior design and atmosphere is fabulous. It's a wonderful place to hang out with friends. One drawback, which is kind of major: It is VERY NOISY. This is the case with all of the Busboys and Poets restaurants throughout the area, and this one is no exception. It... More

I met a few coworkers here after work on a Thursday around 3pm. The wait staff were excellent, out first waiter ended up being moved to another section but he brought our new waiter over and introduced him. So our main waiter ended up being Shelby, he is fantastic. He offered up suggestions based on out tastes after asking us... More
