Schula’s is extremely clean and well maintained with plenty of space between tables, which is a factor in Covid times. I ordered shrimp as an appetizer and fried oysters as entree, Both were tasty, but not a massive amount with either dish. The food is...good and not outrageously priced but if you are really hungry, I might go elsewhere.More

From the absolutely delicious beginning of the fresh bread and crab soup (oh yum!) then on to a shared platter of perfectly prepared Oyster Rockefeller, we thoroughly enjoyed not only our meal but our wonderful server. Amanda helped to make our first experience here a...total delight with her professionalism and her sense of humor. I also had the most perfect crab cake of my life. No more words- it was perfect. My husband had the steamed platter with a very generous portion of snow crab legs, clams and shrimp. We each chose sautéed mushrooms as our side and ate them much later with the fresh bread Amanda sent home with us. OMGoodness! what a fabulous midnight treat! They were...! Along with the amazing desserts we took home. We. Will. Be. Back!More

My husband and I live in Pennsylvania. We drove to Maryland to eat somewhere different to celebrate our anniversary. This place exceeds all of its excellent reviews and well worth the drive. Our waitress was very well trained on the menu. I highly recommend the...mozzarella wedges and mussels as appetizers and their pomegranate margarita as a cocktail. The restaurant serves fresh warm bread as you wait for your main course. Both of our meals (jumbo crab cake and chicken alfredo) were fresh and delicious. We ended our meal with a slice of peanut butter pie, which was ok. We would definitely dine here again!More

I ordered a very large meal for takeout for Mother’s Day- about 15 meals. Everything from the ordering process with Fran to pick up at the exact time we set could not have been better. Every single item was packaged perfectly and delicious! Thank you...Schula's for taking all of the stress out of food prep for Mother’s Day! Tina StowellMore

My husband and I wanted to try a new place (we're new to town) and the reviews here on Trip Advisor convinced us to try it for lunch. It's tucked in the back of a shopping strip, but the map app took us straight there....There's a patio we'd love to try on a pretty day. Service was fast and friendly. I asked the server whether to order grilled shrimp or the shrimp and bacon sandwich. She suggested the sandwich as being the grilled shrimp PLUS bacon and sandwich fixins. Good choice. My husband got the fish tacos, which is a portion of 2. I got sweet potato fries as my side and he got a HUGE side Caesar salad. It was as big as some dinner salads. The "cup" of FABULOUS crab soup came in a bowl, not cup. Good thing, because I ate almost half of his order. Delicious and full of crab. Next time, I may order a bowl as my meal. We both enjoyed our selections. We definitely plan a return trip.More

I guess it was about five or six years ago that I first and last visited Schula's. Our neighbors were thoughtful enough to show my wife and me "the ropes" restaurant-wise. Schula's was one of their favorites. Our experience? Ick. And our neighbors -- terribly...embarrassed -- agreed. So here we were, hungry in Hagerstown, running errands around lunchtime. We agreed to give Schula's a chance to redeem itself. And that's exactly what it did. My wife started with crab bisque that was absolutely outstanding. I had French onion soup that was excellent, although maybe a tad too salty. My wife, a salt lover, thought I was nuts. She had shrimp salad for a main and I had the ahi tuna appetizer as my main. The shrimp salad was delish, and my tuna -- perhaps a tiny bit tooo salty -- was likewise excellent. ("What do you mean too salty?" my wife asked me incredulously.} The interior of the restaurant is nothing to write home about, but it seemed fresh, open, and inviting. The service was outstanding. The bar selections were excellent. Bottom line: We'll definitely be back, and sooner than five or six years from now.More

If you really like seafood stay away from this place. I had shrimp and oysters that were both over cooked. The fish had so much breading and grease that it just wasn’t fit to eat. The baked potato and crab soup were both very good....The service was adequate. As for atmosphere there just wasn’t any. I don’t believe that I have ever been in a restaurant that was so overpriced. If you like to pay a lot for poor food. This is the place for you.More

My Mom and I decided to give this place a try for lunch. Glad we did! I had the 8oz. crab cake with mixed green salad. It was pricey, but it was all lump crabmeat and cooked perfectly. Probably the best crab cake I've had....(Don't tell Nick's Airport Inn;) My Mom enjoyed the shrimp salad over a garden salad and the lemon berry cake. Service was attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere isn't anything special, but if you want good food and good service, give it a try too!More

While our server was quite pleasant, there needs to be some management provided training for staff. Twice asked for bread, never got it. The next table over had to ask for plates for their shared appetizer. Our salad arrived after our entree. These are all...oversights that a well trained server should never commit. I wish we could say the food made up for it... but... the Caesar salad was smothered in dressing. Way too much. The crab cake, while good, came with some sweet sauce that really was inedible. A jumbo lump crab cake, especially a signature dish, should need nothing but perhaps drawn butter. The Crabmeat topped Ribeye with Swiss Cheese sauce sounded good, but the execution lacked. Way too much sauce that smothered everything. It really was hard to rate the ribeye, in that it was so inundated with cheese sauce. It was actually hard to discern the meat from the needed fat on the ribeye. All in all, it was OK, but we really did expect more, given the reviews we read (and the prices). This was at 6:45 on a Thursday evening...it wasn't packed, so nobody was in the weeds. Just poor attention to detail in both the front and the back of the house.More

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. We have some new inexperienced servers that undergo a 2 week training program. Had your server been more attentive she would have described the sauces to you and tried to accommodate any requests you have if possible....More

We had eaten there the last time we were traveling in that area so we decided to go back. The food was awful. Seriously. The caesar salad did not taste as it should. The shrimp scampy, except for the shrimp, had no flavor, none. My...wife loves Maryland blue crab, which was the reason we stopped there in the first place, said that there was very little flavor. We have crossed this restaurant off our list.More
