A great restaurant experience - great service and good food.

Four of us went to dinner, we all had excellent meals. The fried calamari appetizer was both generous and very tender and good. The Cheesy garlic bread was delicious and generous. One friend had The crab cake dinner. It was large and well prepared, my wife had shrimp and chicken (Mediterranean) over pasta: Huge and delicious portion_ she got 3 meals out of it. I had chicken (Mimosa) over pasta - again huge and very good. and the last meal was Seafood Mimosa - like the others very large and good. We had no room for dessert. The house wine was good and very reasonably priced.

Happy Hour In The Lounge/Bar

This was the 1st trip here for 4 of us, but my wife had been here before thru work. The menu is a little pricy overall, but it is pretty extensive. We sat in the lounge to take advantage of the happy hour we saw on their website, but when we got there, there was no information on the table about it or any kind of beer list and the waitress was not up to date on it and treated it as an after thought. This should not happen. About all I could get out of her was $1.99 domestic drafts. Funny, except for that she was fine. My shrimp salad sandwich was full and good, but could have used some more Old Bay. The Cole Slaw was very good, with a nice sweet taste, but just a touch too much liquid. My wife thought her hot turkey sandwich and mashed potatoes and gravy were very good and a full plate. Two others in the group were pleased with their meals, the steak special that evening. There is an attractive dark bar in the lounge with a few TV's that don't overpower the room and they had a nice selection of mostly 70's music piped in. Romano's had a nice locals flavor to it. The other negative was we had a party of 5 and they wouldn't let us put 2 tables together, only letting us put a 5th chair around a table for 4 which made it very crowded. What sense does that make for spacing, if your worried about transmitting a virus. Wake up management, this is defeatist policy, since all 5 family members have had our Covid vaccine's and looking at the clientele that evening, they probably all did too. We would welcome other visit, and might once this policy changes. With all this, Romano's still managed to hold on to a 4 rating, but we go out every Wednesday and have never encountered this seating problem.

Happy Anniversary

My husband and I were celebrating our 15th anniversary and in the times of COVID19, our options were limited. We were told about this place by friends and decided to try it. My husband called ahead of time (to my surprise) and they had a table by the window with a reserved sign on it. We were seated in the main dining room and there was 1 other table with 4 persons. The hostess (masked) was pleasant and our waiter (also masked) was great. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name but he was a young guy with curly hair. He not only helped us make a choice with the meal, he allowed my husband to order steamed jumbo shrimp from the dinner menu although we were there for a late lunch. We ordered the calamari along with the jumbo shrimp as an appetizer, which was delicious. The coating was light and the calamari was tender and not rubbery like a lot of places. We ordered the seafood platter (1 fried and 1 broiled) and when the plates came...I immediately asked for a carry out plate! The portions were huge. The crab cake was ALL lump meat and NO filler. Sides were also delicious and well seasoned. For 2 appetizers, 2 meals, 3 drinks, 1 iced tea, 1 dessert = leftovers for 2 days...WORTH IT!!! Try it, I guarantee you'll love it. Note: All staff was masked and social distancing was in place

So… how do you mess up lasagna?

I’ll cut to this chase: this was bad. And when I say bad, I mean really bad. My family ordered the chicken parm, lasagna, and the Mediterranean pasta. All three were flavorless (not sure how you can make lasagna taste like nothing). The first thing I tasted when I bit into the CHICKEN from my chicken parm was tomato. The saddest part was, that was the only thing I tasted for the entirety of the dish. The presentation was atrocious (we couldn’t distinguish the chicken parm from the lasagna). The food completely ruined my family’s appetite. My dad, who I have never seen not clean his plate regardless of how bad the food is, really struggled with his meal. The only thing good about it was the portion sizes. So, if you like to eat a lot of bad food, then I’d recommend this place. If you’re a sensible person, steer clear.

Yesterday, I did a curbside pickup. I ordered the Chicken Breasts a la Parmesan pasta. The tomato sauce was not a sauce but tomato paste (flavor and consistency). The breaded chicken breast on top of the pasta had no flavor as well. Also ordered the gyro and the meat was extremely salty. I came with a very small piece of pita bread. The chicken mimosa pasta was very good. Last item ordered was the Chopped Sirloin of Beef in which they forgot to me give the baked potato side order. The mushrooms that topped the beef, you could clearly tell were from the can, not fresh.

I was greatly disappointed on my last two visit to this restaurant. before covid I fell in love with the crab cakes here. however, during my last two visit I ordered the crab cake platter. the cost had gone up but i didn't care because I loved the flavor, size, and consistency of the crab cakes. On last week, I went to eat with my husband for his birthday and ALL of the food was horrible. Our table ordered Chicken Salad, Flounder Platter, Rheuben, and Crab Cakes. All of it looked and tasted like hospital cafeteria food. The Rheuben had not meet on it, the Flounder was thin and without real fish, the chicken on the chicken salad was chewy and id not taste real, and my crab cakes were mostly breading. I will not return and I would not advise anyone else to eat here either. Worst experience ever.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE

We had arranged a birthday dinner 6 weeks in advance and had a separate room reserved. We confirmed this reservation the evening before the event. We had 25 guests including a few of us who drove up from North and South Carolina for this dinner only to find out when we got there they gave our reservation to another party at the last minute and all they could say was they were sorry. The waitstaff was excellent and tried to make up with their management's incredibly poor service but it was just too much to overcome. The crab cakes were good but the rest of the food was not worth the cost or the trip. We won't ever go there again. STAY AWAY!!

No one in Baltimore can come close to the great food this place gives you. The crab cakes are off the charts, I have been coming here a lot of years and with the economy going the way its been going Romano's still give's you the best service and do not cut back on their portions of food. They should be a 10 Star restaurant. Keep up the great work Romano's. If anyone wants great food come here. Goodie of Owings mills MD.

Great service only the best food in town. Romano's restaurant in Glen Burnie Md the best food. Whenever I come to Merlin to visit my family I'll always stop here to have lunch for dinner or take back home to Charlotte North Carolina with me

Great Portions and Seafood

Visited Romano's for the first time. I was told it was a great place to eat, and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Seafood Mimosa. The portion size was huge; I took most of it home with me to enjoy another time. The flavor was outstanding, so I highly recommend it. My daughter ordered the lamb chops and my husband had the broiled salmon; both had red skin garlic mashed potatoes and were very satisfied with their meals and portion sizes. Will definitely return to try other dishes.

My boyfriend and I go there all the time for karaoke with friends on weekends. Their service is great and all the meals we've had are the best ever, especially the hors d'oeuvre platter. Unbelievable bargain and always delicious. All their meals are huge portions. We always have enough to take home. We eat mostly seafood but hear their sandwiches, pizza and Italian dishes are wonderful too. Highly recommend the food and the karaoke makes for a fun and entertaining evening.

Steam Shrimp not cooked enough

I placed a order for delivery for 1lb of steamed shrimp. They were jumbo size but we're not cooked enough. I called spoke to manager and told her they were tough and rubbery. Not sure if not cooked enough or they were overcooked. I wanted to return them with the but was told I have to bring them to the store. Manager didn't offer to replace them with something different. Now I'm stuck with $30 worth of shrimp and have to find someone to drive me since I'm disabled. Was very disappointed with the result.

LARGE PORTIONS

Romano's has been a local favorite for years. The food is good, the portions are large, and the staff are friendly. I always eat in the lounge, so this is they only staff I engage with. There is very little to no turnover as the staff will openly tell you they love working for the owners. A happy staff usually translates to good service for the diners, and certainly does at Romano's.

My family & I patronized Romano's restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We had wings, crab cakes (they were huge), chicken parmigiana, and lamb chops. The entire meal was tasty, and the customer service was top notch. Our waitress Della went out of her way to take care of us. We will definitely be back!

Perfect restaurant. Huge selecton of food, 5 star food quality, polite and nice staff, clean and well decorated restauranf. Free parking around the building with enough space for every guests.
