General House is located in a shopping center on the border of Pasadena & Glen Burnie. The decor is clean and modern. The mood can vary from quiet and tranquil to upbeat and energized depending on the size and makeup of the crowd. After getting off to a slow start, General House gained notoriety in the area for their all you can eat sushi. It is not unusual to find larger groups of people of all ages socializing over beautiful platters of fresh, appetizing sushi rolls. However, don't overlook the kitchen menus! The soups have good flavor and they are willing to make tweaks per your personal preferences because they make your soup to order -- not once a day like most locations. I order my Hot & Sour soup ($2.50) extra hot and extra sour. Not a problem. Appetizers are another good choice. The Crab Rangoon ($4.25 for 6) is a cut above most. Not the big, flowery fried wonton wrapper with a tiny dollop of cream cheese that you find most places. These may not be as pretty, but they are folded like little purses that are filled FULL of a lightly sweet cream cheese filling that is delicious. Typically, they come with a sweet dipping sauce but if you like spicy, I recommend asking for Sriracha sauce. The combination of the slightly sweet rangoon filling with the spicy Sriracha is a match made in heaven. The tempura appetizers are also wonderful. The coating is light and crispy as it should be. The vegetable tempura ($4.25) comes with 2 of ea veggie (typically broccoli, green beans, onion, bell pepper, sweet potato) and it is a great choice. The shrimp tempura ($6.25 for 3) is good but has a panko coating that is light and crispy but a bit too much coating for the size of the shrimp. Kitchen entrees are priced around $10 for chicken and a bit more for other proteins but are very good. Unlike many "chinese" places, the General House Asian fusion entrees have fresh sauces made from scratch that they are happy to prepare to you liking - no sugar or extra spicy is no problem. I also recommend upgrading to the fried rice ($2.00 extra) as it is well worth it. It is yum. I am a fan of General House and find it to be a cut above with their Asian fusion twist. Give it a try!

We have been here twice now. Once for sushi and it really good and the price was very reasonable. The second time we had carry out. Both entrees were supposed to be spicy but had not heat at all. That being said, they were still tasty. I would probably come back for the sushi instead. Also had the seaweed salad and that was delicious. The staff is VERY friendly and attentive.

It's been a while since I have done a review, but General House is one of my regular stops, so I might as well blow some dust off of my Tripadvisor account. If your a "hearty eater", you know that buffet sushi sucks and regular sushi restaurants are ridiculously expensive for a decent portion. General House is the perfect midway point. If you have not visited yet, it is under $24 for unlimited sushi, sashimi, sides, and drink. For the quality and options, this is the deal of the century. In fact, on your first round, you are probably going to feel discomfort from eating too much. The kicker to all this is...If you order it, you have to eat it. If not, they charge a penalty for wasting food. So, first lets talk about taste and quality. This sushi is not 5-star restaurant quality. It is good, but not great. That being said, it is way, way, way better than anything you would find on a buffet. The choices you get are limited. While there are about 100 sushi/sashimi options, they are not what most restaurants would sell as premium rolls or sushi. But they have all the "American" favorites. I am disappointed that they don't include Eel Sushi or Tuna Sashimi. But there is a big selection that will make most sushi lovers happy. The big taste winners are the sides. Gyoza and Spring Rolls are freaking amazing! All of their salads, soups, and sides are very good. The service is always friendly. The place is always clean. I highly recommend you go there for the experience. If the restaurant is reading this, please, please add soda to your refillable drink list. The more soda people drink, the less sushi they will eat. It is a win-win! Finally, leave your 13 year old son home. He don't know how to use

General House is a smallish restaurant in the middle of a strip mall, The window is plastered with signs advertising their all-you-can-eat Sushi special but our party of 5 opted to order from the menu. Everyone was quite satisfied with their selections but I was a little underwhelmed by the Udon broth and I was also not sure if I really wanted green pepper slices in the broth. I would say that the Udon was OK, but I would not order it again. Overall a good experience and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes a good Roll.

My husband and I went to eat sushi at the General house and the place is always clean and the staff is nice. They have “all you can eat sushi for 19.90 and on Saturday it’s a little higher 25.00. You have a great list that you can order all kinds of sushi, miso soup and calamari and a variety-of other foods that you can order. Great place to go and eat with friends, family or coworkers.

My partner and I go to this place often... I'm very picky about sushi, the sushi here is always good! It's never busy so there's never a wait. The service is ok. Not over the top. They have an all you can eat special which it's worth it. If your into sushi this is a must try...

Decided to try this place after seeing reviews. Located in a strip center next to Home Depot. Wide variety of Asian fusion cuisine. AYCE sushi bar $19.50. 2 pieces at a time. Asked for 2 spring rolls and 2 hot sour soup. After about 15 minutes received only one spring roll and one hot sour soup. The soup was excellent however. Tea was one teabag in a small pot. Tasteless. The meal Kung pao shrimp was supposed to be spicy, however did not seem like they added any seasonings at all. Meal for 2 was $25.00 Hunan Manor further drive is much better. While we there only 3 couples entered during lunch.

Excellent sushi, the iced tea is smooth with no bitterness. They are offering an all-you-can-eat sushi option. For less than $25 you can order soup, salad, appetizers and sushi. Be warned that if you order more than you can eat, they will charge you regular price for what you don’t eat, so keep in mind you can order more. The staff is very friendly and polite, the sushi presentation is outstanding.

My husband and I used to frequent this restaurant when it used to be Tokyo Sushi, and we decided to try it again when it changed ownership. I'm happy to say that the sushi is still great, and we both love the variety of options on the new menu. We have also tried a number of their other items on the menu, and I can't think of anything that we just didn't care for. I'm not sure the other food has "wowed" us, but it's very good. The decor is very nice and definitely a step (or several) above where it used to be. We have also utilized their delivery and carry-out service. This is actually where we had a bit of an issue. The service was fine, but the Triple Delight I ordered for delivery had red pepper flakes in it. According to their online menu this dish is not spicy, and I have never ordered it anywhere else where it was. I have no idea why they were added, but I was unable to eat it. To be fair, I didn't contact the restaurant right away- my husband and I simply switched entrees. I did send an email later though through their delivery site explaining what had happened. The restaurant didn't respond, but the way I worded the email I didn't expect them too. I have had no issues since then. Overall our experiences here have been great and we would not hesitate to go back.

Over the last few months General House has quickly become a go-to location for fresh, high quality Asian Fusion food. The menu has an eclectic mix of Chinese classics as well as choices with a Japanese and Thai flair. I don't eat a lot of sushi, but it gets rave reviews from everyone who I bring here. The staff is awesome -- friendly, polite and appreciative of my repeat business. They are very accommodating of special requests. I consume very little sugar and they are more than happy to prepare dishes without sugar as well as to my specific heat preferences (I like hot). The decor is very nice and a huge step up from many Asian food locations. Prices are VERY reasonable: a green salad with ginger dressing is $1.95, a scrumptious avacadi said is just $4.95. Hot and sour soup is just $2.50 and Tom Yum soup with shrimp, mussels and veggies is just $4.50. Sushi choices start as low as $2.50 for veggie sushi and go up to $10- $12 for high end special rolls. I am very found of the kitchen entrées -- my favorite being chicken with string beans at $8.95. Kitchen entrées with shrimp are just $9.95- $10.95. It is a pleasant atmosphere, high quality ingredients and great service. I highly recommend General House. I think you will be very pleased.
