We had friends over for an end of summer boat ride last night, and this was our dinner destination. The view is amazing, the service was spectacular, good cocktails, but we were disappointed in the food. This is a location that should serve excellent crab dishes, but the crab dip and crab cakes we’re mediocre at best. My husbands rockfish was delicious, but the crab meat on top was definitely not lump crab meat. I think this was also the problem with the crab dip and the crab cakes.

Live locally & have heard they host a great happy hour. Menu looked extensive and online photos were impressive. Made reservation for outside seating and hostess attempted to seat us at a high top near bar until we declined (not what I anticipated when I made reservations). We were eventually seated, great view, but food was mediocre. Stuffed lobster and crab cakes were overpriced and banquet quality. Risotto was like paste & lobster tail had been under heat lamp for some time. Server was slammed, very sweet, but if we return (big if) we'll stick to overpriced cocktails and appetizers. Disappointed they have potential to be grest

We are particular with the quality of service vs the level of cost. Having spent time in the service industry, we have certain expectations, Don't have diners wait 10-15 minutes before anyone comes to the table..., don't bring out the entrees 15 minutes before the apps are consumed. This is restaurant service 101. Get it right. There's not a lot of competition for quality service in Kent County. You could excel! Drink pours were generous but food came from Sisco and was cool to cold due o put timing.

Kitty Knight house (and inn) has changed hands several times over the past dozen or so years. Their outdoor deck is great in the summer but the place seems to have trouble making it though the winter - no tourist trade. But here it is July and we decided to visit the "new" ownership. VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. The deck was filled with bar patrons, we headed indoors, greeted promptly, ordered seafood dinners which were both outstanding. The food really is very good. Snapper with properly made risotto; shrimp, scallops, crab in a creamy tomato sauce over pasta. - Dessert: one key lime, one gelato. A bit pricey, wine, meal, desserts - $85, but then most decent places in this area are. . .

For my birthday, my fiancée brought me here upon recommendation from a friend. We were very pleased with the view as we sat on the deck and overall ambience. However, I ordered the Lobster Mac and at $24, I expected a decent meal. I was very disappointed to realize that my large plate of pasta was simply that - cheese and pasta. I had to scour the plate to find lobster bits and I simply found four small pieces. My fiancée had apparently also requested a birthday dessert but all that arrived was the check. We were really hoping for a better experience and found it to be a but disappointing. The staff and space was nice but I would not recommend dining here.

Today we had a delightful lunch at the Kitty Knight House restaurant. The food was delicious ( shrimp and crab flatbread and crab cakes, risotto & broccoli rabe). We sat outside and the view of the water and boats was beautiful. But what made it even more perfect was the great service we received from our waitress, Ashley. She was attentive and gave us the best service we've received in a restaurant in a long time. She was very personable as well, often pausing to engage in conversation with us. All in all it was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely be back.

Tried the Sunday brunch with my mother and my daughter and we were all very happy with our choices. The crab bisque is one of the best I have ever had. There’s also an impressive Bloody Mary bar where you can add your own seasoned or plain tomato juice and fixins. I recommend to try it what a lovely Sunday outing. Great service great food scenic location. Thanks a lot.

Beautiful location! I cook but loved getting out after quarantine. I was full of patience! Cocktail was tiny & ran dry for long time due to the party larger than 6 seated near us-server too busy. Food took over an hour. Chicken imperial came without bernaise. Tried to eat slow in order to bring to our server’s attention...rest of family finished their meal before we were checked on. Was told they were “out of bernaise” which is not possible. Was told manager aware. Had to ask for an adjustment of bill when it came. Contacted owner-had hopes but disappointed.

Thanksgiving Dinner 2023: When we sat down, the waitress did not inform us that soft drinks were included in the prix fixe buffet. She also didn't ask us if we wanted coffee or tea with dessert, which I found out later was also included. I drank tap water. I didn't ask, because in the past, we were charged for a refill cup of coffee during two previous lunches over the summer (two cups of coffee was over $12.00). At that time, I called the restaurant after the erroneous refill coffee charge. I was told they don't charge for a second cup of coffee. I got a refund. We went back two weeks later for lunch, ordered coffee with dessert, asked for a refill, and was charged AGAIN. Pros: Great view sitting on the deck/patio in the summer (see photo). Cozy inside during cold weather. Live music on the deck during the summer. I won't go back, since each time, there was an issue. I dined there a total of 7 times over the summer of 2023 and Thanksgiving dinner. I don't spend an average of 65 bucks for 2 people at lunch plus a 20% tip to deal with issues. Thanksgiving, which was over $100 + 20% tip was the last time.

Check-in could use improvement. The staff member was very rushed and never welcomed us, just handed over the key. We had to ask several questions. Carpeted stairs leading to guest room needed vacuuming. Wanted a cup of tea in the room but was appalled by the dirty tea spoon, so decided to skip using the cup. The views overlook the bay which are lovely. Be sure to ask for a room toward the back of the inn as there is a great deal of traffic going past for a small town. The restaurant was filled with people enjoying the evening view and there was live entertainment. There was no t.v. in our room, which I really didn't miss and enjoyed reading instead. Did I mention the traffic? Hopefully, the inn is scheduled for refurbishment soon. The price at this time does not reflect what should be higher standards. I dislike giving poor reviews, but don't want others to be disappointed.

A great mid week treat. We had the lollipop lamb chop appetizer, chicken pasta, crab cake and rock fish. Each dish was great! We cleaned our plates. The server, Erin was a delight. Desserts and coffee are a must! I am foodie and I can say it was awesome!

We needed to relax and rewind. We booked the room with a fireplace. When we arrived it was an usually warm day and our room was on the third floor.Outside the guest entrance we noticed a rotting jack o lantern with flies everywhere. It was very warm. The person who took us to our room was very nice but didn't seem knowledgeable about where things were. We had to ask her to turn on the air conditioner to make the room comfortable. The next morning, the room was freezing and we wanted to turn on the fireplace but it was non functioning. We also noticed there was not one other car in the parking lot that night. Kind of scary we were there by ourselves. When we asked about the fireplace, we were told it is not turned on until November. Ok, so why didn't you tell us that before you charged us for it? The next morning at 7:15 am instead of sleeping in and relaxing on a Saturday morning, we were awakened to the sound of three lawnmowers and multiple weed whackers outside our window. So disappointing. This was subsequently addressed with the manager and she indicated my "complaints" would be addressed. No " I am sorry" or anything to validate the deficiencies . If you are looking for a quiet refuge do not book this place. Seems as if the management is more interested in making income from the deck dining and view than assuring guests at the Inn are taken care of. Would not go back and would not recommend. Too bad.

We had a great lunch today at Kitty Knight House's Deep Blue Restaurant. The oysters were fresh and delicious, the grilled salmon sandwich was excellent and so tasty, and loved the fried cauliflower starter; all of the food was very good, and the service was excellent--especially thanks to Veronica, who made our visit very pleasant. She was very attentive and helpful, and helped a lot in making it an enjoyable visit. Will be coming again soon!

Kitty Knight house consistently serves good food. Our cocktails were not good and did not even include the ingredients mentioned in the listing. Our server was sweet and they have a lot of outdoor seating with a big beautiful bar.

We came for a stay and dinner on my birthday on a very windy March afternoon. The owner graciously opened the very old historic tavern just for us and it was such a lovely place with a large fireplace and timber ceiling. We both had steaks which were perfectly cooked and the servers were excellent as was the manager who manned the bar that evening for us. A memorable meal in a lovely historic space.
