First off our server was fantastic. The food was tasty, quick and a good value. We had a late lunch and it was fairly quiet, but it looks like it could get quite busy the way it was setup. Nice bar with lots of craft brew choices.

Husband and I weren't very hungry so we asked to split a prime rib sandwich. Server was happy to accommodate us (I think there was a small charge). The sandwich was very good and the sweet potato fries were great. The only criticism I have is the noise level which is very high. We will go back, but hope to... More

We showed up with folks from across the country and Canada without a reservation...they not only had room for us but were able to split the bill even when we hadn't warned them to. Good food - enough choice even for the vegetarians in the mix and the beer was great! Sampling is allowed to make your choice...

Love Growlers- been going for two decades. Freshly brewed microbrews that change regularly, fantastic food, nice place upstairs to sit outdoors or in, great place to meet up with Happy Hour groups

My wife and I stopped by Growler's on a weekend afternoon and we were delighted to find tasty appetizers, a cheerful wait staff and all around nice experience. The place wasn't yet crowded (it was too late for lunch but too early for dinner) .I'm sure they must do a great business. We just moved back to Maryland from a... More

Went upstairs and saw the 360 band. Had the calamari on the menu. Light breading, not greasy, delicious! My friend had the Angus burger, and said it was fantastic! We both had diet cokes. Local music, good food!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place with an outside drinking space so decided on Growler's. You have to be ok with hearing train horns occasionally - which we were since we're fans of the show Hell On Wheels. We tried a few of the beers, all of which were tasty. The outside bartender helped us select the... More

This brewery is a real find, great beer and wonderful comfort food prepared with care and attention, then served with enthusiasm and pride. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his yummy meatloaf dinner and draft beer, and my smokey three cheese grilled sandwich with pulled pork was messy but absolutely delicious, finger-licking good. We were both pleasantly surprised to see a nice... More

Local restaurant in an historic building form 1902. Interesting selection of micro-brews and the menu has everything from meatloaf to greubens (prime rib or turkey and cheese). The lamburger is outstanding as is the fish and chips. Different than your typical 'fast food' restaurant. Server was very friendly on a quiet night.

Description
J.A. Belt building is considered the oldest commercial property in Gaithersburg. The building has recently undergone a complete historic restoration and is listed on the National Historic Registry. The marriage of the old and new in this historic building creates a unique environment well suited for the reproduction of our turn of the century tavern. Hand-crafted beers and an excellent American menu keeps them coming back!
