We usually come here after a walk on a Spring or Autumn evening to relax, enjoy a pot of hot tea or an espresso with half a dozen of their chocolate creations. It's unlike anything else in the area, and we value knowing a spot like this very much. It's hardly ever crowded and very cozy, very atmospheric. [Each time... More

There were about 30 people crammed into each of the two small rooms where the chocolate is made, including almost a dozen children who couldn't resist touching everything in sight. It was enough to make two adults in our party lose their appetite.

We walked in and decided to have dessert before dinner. Service was so friendly and the gelato was so creamy. Def. would go back!

My daughter and I registered online to take a tour of the chocolate shop's factory in August of 2016. We were joined by about 6 others on this tour. One of the owners gave the tour which is in the basement of the chocolate shop. The owner explained farming for cocoa beans, harvesting them and processing them and making the... More

We went to Chicago for a family visit, and decided to bring along some chocolates from the SpagnVola shop. The attendant at the shop picked a box off the shelf, wrapped it nicely, and put it in a nice gift bag. When we got to chicago and opened the box, we noticed the chocolates had a white tint, like stale... More

We have lived in Gaithersburg for over 3 years and had no idea this place existed. We went on the free chocolate factory tour and were blown away by the amazing chocolate, bon bons, and truffles that SPAGnVOLA produces. It was an informative tour where we learned about their family-owned cocoa farm in the Dominican Republic. Their chocolate is truly... More

We came across SpagnVola while visiting our son and ha family in Gaithersburg. We enjoyed a delicious ice cream and capuccino during an afternoon sight seeing. The owners were very nice and explained all about the chocolate making to us. Although we didn't try any on the day, I have to say they looked delicious and I am sure would... More

We stopped by SPAGnVOLA for dessert and I am so glad. I had Butter Pecan and Chocolate Peanut Butter Gelato with a beautiful Chocolate Caramel perched on top. It was absolutely amazing. The chocolates are really stunning and you just have to see them. Very very nice servers and an adorable restaurant and furnishings. Too fun!

This is a great little place to stop after a movie or restaurant. You can get a great cup of freshly-made hot drinks and a little something something for dessert.
