Charming restaurant in downtown Emmitsburg. Exceptional service , friendly & attentive staff. Every time we eat here we order something different and we are never disappointed. The plate is beautifully presented and the taste is phenomenal. Never leave hungry!

We have had lunch here on several occasions and we love their crab and seafood soups. We have been here for the holiday buffet on Mothers Day, Christmas, and Thanksgiving and we highly recommend them. Last evening we stopped in for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed steak and veal dinners and the portions were generous and we required boxes for... More

We pulled off the highway for gas and found this gem. We arrived Saturday there was a pianist playing in this very large eating area. The place was full and we saw they also had a number of tables of eight or nine people all seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere. We ordered crab soup, then steak and chicken. Firstly... More

Hit the Carriage House Inn for our NFA class dinner. It's and easy and convenient walk from campus. I ordered the filet and crab cake meal. The filet had been ordered medium rare and arrived well done, which pretty much destroys this cut. So I was left with a crab cake, which while tasty was on the small side for... More

It's nice to hear that you joined us from your NFA class. I will share your experience with the chefs in the hopes of this not happening again. I'm glad the server did correct the problem so you could experience our wonderful tender filet mignons. Thank you, please let us know when you're back in the area. We'd love to... More

Stopped in for lunch and as for salads it was the best I ever had. Was the second time visiting and have had good service and food both times.

My family always looked forward to eating at the Carriage House. This June we decided to celebrate my parent's wedding anniversary here. The meal was not worth the price this visit. The chicken florentine required a steak knife and even then was a challenge to cut. The vegetables were scant. Some folks received roses but we did not. They knew... More

We dined twice at the Carriage House last weekend. It's been a favorite for many years and never disappoints us. Food (crab cakes and soft shell crabs))and service are above par and the accomplished pianist adds a lovely ambiance to the evening.

The restaurant opens at 11AM. When we arrived at 11:15, it was mostly empty. A great time to arrive. There were 9 of us. Did not take much time to send in our orders. There was very little available for gluten free, but everyone else had a hard time making their choices. I asked for the crab sandwich without the... More

A group dinner with ham, haddock, Mac and cheese and smashed potatoes were all very good. We also had a piece of chocolate which was excellent. If you're near Gettysburg this place is well worth the 15 minute ride. Servers are all very friendly. Just off route 15.

A group of 16 of us decided to eat here for a 75 birthday party. The table they had set up for us was literally inches away from the front entrance so every time someone entered or exited the restaurant they collided with my chair. The quality of food in most cases was poor and not what it used to... More
