My husband and I were delighted with this multi-story cafe. We enjoyed falafel with hummus (the best we have ever had) and Syrian coffee. The atmosphere is friendly and the decor is full of mideastern colors, fabrics, and art objects. We appreciated the careful attention...to restrictions because of the pandemic, and it was very easy to relax and enjoy ourselves. An excellent experience!More

I was craving a chicken shawarma, and I remember enjoying the one I tried from here, so I went here for a second time to see if it still held up. It did hold up! It was delicious and just the way I love it....The salad that came with it was good too. My husband had the falafel sandwich, which he enjoyed also. He was very full, however. Service was good, but the restrooms were a mess. There was no toilet paper or paper towels. If they improve the restrooms, I can see this restaurant going up to a 5 in the foreseeable future.More

We ordered 5 different things and loved everything. The chicken kebab is delicious! The hummus is excellent. Everything tasted so fresh! We loved the outsooe seating area - a nice place or socially distance without beautiful landscaping.

I've been to this restaurant three times. Each time I was not disappointed. I've tried two of their falafels and a schswarma. They were well done. Also had their tea, which was excellent. The location is tight, but they have solved this with two staircases...to two upper levels. Scattered throughout are a number of traditional items, many of which are for sale. They even have a little game area with traditional games. I've yet to hit them for dinner, so may have more to say later.More

We shared the mezze platter and added a few additional items for lunch. The grape leaves were our favorite, with generous lemon seasoning. A close second was a pita with rich thyme, sesame, and olive oil. The setting is fantastic, with three floors of unique...settings. We sat on the third floor where there were games you could play. Or you could sit in large comfortable chairs in an adjoining room. Will definitely go back.More

The owners created a beautiful space to relax with friends and family. They have many activities going on - from music to comedy (see their web page) -- but one can go on any day and have a terrific cup of coffee and a Syrian-inspired...snack or meal.More

A friend had recommended this eatery and I am sorry it has taken me so long to find this place! They are located right on Main Street Ellicott City. The front entrance opens into a warm cozy setting where you can see the menu board....Their selections cover sandwiches, appetizers, meal platters, salads, soups, pastries, beer and wine. Topping these choices is a case filled with Syrian pastries and special Syrian coffee and other hot and cold beverages are also available. I wanted to try everything so the owner guided me to the Mezza Sampler and it was the perfect choice. There was a smooth and flavorful hummus with 2 different toppings, baba ganouj, grape leaves, falafel, fatayer (pastry type pie) that you could select spinach or meat for the filling. A small salad and piping hot pitta wedges to scoop up all the hummus. I unfortunately had to eat and run but don’t let the first floor fool you. The warm woods and stone facade of these beautiful buildings in Main Street Ellicott city enhance its appeal and there is apparently more seating to enjoy and relax in the 2 upper floors. WiFi is provided and they have live entertainment in the form of music, readings, other performance arts on usually Fridays and Saturdays? There are beautiful pieces of handicraft items to purchase eg. rugs, handmade wooden pieces, art work etc. I really wish I had additional time to have browsed the upper floors which just means I will have to come back and bring some friends to enjoy such a unique and beautiful cafe/ gallery. The owner mentioned they are also opened for breakfast and they are also able to provide several menu items for those who are on vegetarian, vegan or gluten free diets. The prices are very reasonable and portions are generous.More

Syriana is a treasurer of Ellicott City and has very fresh dishes of all kinds. Also good selection for vegetarians and for children. After thinking of my words after watching a "flamenco" show I want to make things more clear, This is a review of...the restaurant, not the show. I revise my review because the RESTAURANT gets full marks. The food here is really tasty, the people are great, and the place is very comfortable. I recommend the combination plate. I went there for a flamenco performance and will definitely return for the food any day and for a show of flamenco if they actually present a professional flamenco dancer (there is a lot in DC).I look forward to my next time there!More

Years ago, on a hot day, my adult son and daughter were walking down main street when a man offered them (free) bottles of cold water. It was the owner of a Syrian store. When they opened the restaurant, we went there for dinner and...absolutely loved it. We don't leave close by, but went several times. Their wines are among the best we had, and the owners are great conversationalists. For a quiet meal, the third floor is the cosiest.More

Excellent middle eastern food at a great price. Charming interior of old building in historic EC. Falafel, hummus, and shawarma were excellent. Didn’t have a coffee or dessert this time but they look great.

My husband and I went here for a quick meal while in Ellicott City. I saw my favorite food, chicken shawarma, on the menu and I knew I had to stop in to give it a try. As I said, I had the chicken shawrma...sandwich while my husband had the falafel sandwich. They were both delicious. The restaurant was surrounded with Middle Eastern art that you can buy. They have tables on all three floors - mostly on the second and third, though. They served us our food within 10 minutes. It cost around $20 for a soda and the two sandwiches.More

Cute little cafe and store. A lot of steps to go to second and third floors to dine. Wife is from Lebanon descent and liked the grape leaves and spinach pies and thought they were authentic. Baklava dessert was dry and too flakey

Two of us enjoyed al fresco dinner here on Friday May 3. We had the salad, hummus, chicken shawarma and beef Kabob sandwiches. All very good. There was also live music. I look forward to a return visit. Very casual dining - you order at...counter and server brings your meal to you. They also serve gelato which we did not try. The owner is very friendly and hospitable.More
