A community gathering spot for fresh loose leaf tea, tea inspired spirits and food. Come join us at the General Store in the quaint village of Royal Oak...a short drive from both Downtown Easton and Downtown Saint Michaels.

We were so surprised to find this restaurant on our way to Bellevue. Four of us stopped for brunch. The food was exceptional and the Bloody Marys with pepper bacon and shrimp was off the charts delicious.
My wife and I enjoyed a terrific meal here on a recent Thursday night.
It’s located at a wide spot in the road to Royal Oak, easy to overlook as you zip along the main drag between Easton and St. Michaels.
The host/waiter/bartender was polite...and professional. He was quick to take our cocktail order and help us choose from the tightly curated menu.
My salad was excellent and my wife loved the fresh gazpacho. “Like summer in a bowl”
The crab cakes were the best I had during our week at the Eastern Shore, sitting on a streak of a fresh green sauce that was delicious. The corn succotash on the side was outstandingly fresh and tasty.
My wife had the shrimp and grits - the red sauce was a flavor bomb and we used crusty bread to sop up every bite.
Creme brûlée dessert came to the table quickly and was outstanding.
T was very quiet when we dined, just two other tables. A memorable meal in a quaint little spot.More
t at the General Store was recommended to us by a guest staying at our inn. What a terrific spot! There was a lively happy group at the bar where dinner can also be served. Lots of space in the comfortable easy going dining room....Service was excellent! The menu is wonderful, something for every appetite. My husband and I delighted in the Ahi Tuna appetizer, a gorgeous sparkling fresh and generous serving of perfectly fresh seared ahi over a delicious balsamic glaze with a wasabi drizzle and seaweed salad garnish.
I ordered the shrimp and grits which were expertly prepared. The sauce was hearty and well seasoned over perfectly cooked grits. My husband ordered the grilled Flat iron steak which came cooked to order (rare). It was juicy, tender and super flavorful. Served alongside was delectable Mac and cheese....melt in your mouth creamy pasta. And the excellent accompaniment was the broccolini, bright green with a wonderful light garlic flavor. It couldn't have been a better side to the meal.
We had the key lime cheesecake for dessert. It was sublime.
Can't wait to go back to this restaurant!More
We had a family brunch here. The bloody Mary's were very fresh and the food was delicious. They worked with our family to make sure my daughter's meal was gluten free. We would love to return for dinner.
We just visited t at the General store for the first time. We have been visiting the waterfowl festival in Easton for 40 years and thought we knew most of the restaurants within 20 miles.
We were greeted by Ashley who was also our waitress....We started with fresh made bread with honey orange zested butter, Delicious .
My meal was pork loin medium rare with roasted red beets mashed sweet potato and a sautéed green vegetable, Outstanding . My wife had the blackened shrimp and grits. It had a smoked flavor with a jalapeño touch that was just enough.
Both meals were perfect and we would return and highly recommend to our friends to try.More

Tuesday is half price bottle of wine night. This restaurant is also good. This Tuesday the menu was very limited. We were told they are changing to a fall menu. The menu is not what is posted on the web. I still like this restaurant...a lot but wish the menu would be updated on the web.More
Wonderful dinner of shrimp and grits with peppers and just enough zip and husband had bison short ribs with a little bit of an Asian bent. Both delicious as always! Melissa is a great host - a lovely evening.
Drive or ferry over to this...hidden gem!More

I have been a patron at this restaurant. I was suggest that you contact them. They could probably do 28 people but I suspect they ask you to book the entire restaurant. It is very small. In terms of gluten-free, I would suspect yes. But again best to call and have a chat.
