I've been here loads of times and every time is always great! The outside garden is lovely for a sunny lunch. There is lots of space. Their food has always been delicious! I totally recommend it.

Service was very slow indeed - long enough that even our animated and talkative party got bored. My scallops tasted quite unpleasant, and the crispy beef in my crispy beef salad tasted like cardboard. It's very rare for me not to eat a restaurant meal, but I left most of this one. My husband's mussels were not nice either, and... More

Such a lovely place to dine all staff were very lovely and attentive to our needs. The seat we were given felt like a private dining area very nice and my beautiful girlfriend also loved it. My only negative was the Hake main dish that came with mussels when it didn't say on the menu not a problem for us... More

We like this local pub. It's got a nice atmosphere. The bar side is more relaxed and dogs are allowed in bar area. It has a nice garden near the river. The menu changes a bit regularly, and food is good. Service is friendly but can be a bit slow.

Dropped in with family for Saturday lunch. Setting is great next to river. We were fortunate to pick a sunny day and sat in the garden. Lovely old pub, great service and great food. Prices a little on the steep side, but worth it.

We went on a weekday afternoon and sat in the garden as it was sunny, although the interior of the pub is really charming. The food did take quite a while to come, but we weren't in a rush and the staff were very welcoming. The food was above average but 3 courses each worked out quite expensive. We didn't... More

We recently visited George & Dragon for dinner, there was 3 of us on a Sunday afternoon/evening. One of few local pubs which serve food after 3pm on a Sunday & it's worth a visit! Tasty food, good wine & friendly staff - & a pick of tables! Since we have lived in Sturry we had avoided The George owing... More

We asked to book at 1.30 but were told can you do 1.00. No problem. Got there on time and received good attention very quickly. The menu was suspiciously long for a Sunday lunch...with the roasts rather expensive. We chose other options and it soon became apparent that many people had been waiting ages. We were told there would be... More

What a lovely pub with great parking and superb staff the only failing was the length of time to serve 2 plough mans and a bowl of chips which were (eventually !!) nice even though the chip portion at was a bit small' It took over 1/2 an hour to serve which is ridiculous as place really quiet and would... Fordwich claims to be England's smallest town . Very ancient and interesting . All the stone for Canterbury was unloaded here from Caen in France. The George and dragon is excellent , lovely ye olde feel , food was really really good , generous portions , service great too.
