I continue my quest to support local food eateries during our national pandemic. So tonight, all i could think about was pulled pork. I drove down to Andy Nelson's waited 5 minutes in a drive-thru line, and ordered the regular pulled pork sandwich for $7.95...The bad news is I ordered extra Bama sauce, and she forgot to put it in. The good news is the sandwich, as usual, was amazing. Overstuffed w/ lean pulled pork, it melted in my mouth. Pound for pound one of the best sandwiches in town.More

Thank you for the review! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your sandwich, and we appreciate you for supporting local. We look forward to your next visit.
Disappointing Based on previous reviews - We did carry out - Beef Brisket was salty - Pulled Pork looked like lumpy sawdust and tastes like it came out of a forest fire - Ribs were alright but the meat didn’t fall off the bone A...little more cooking would have bee nice We will not be going backMore

Andy Nelson's BBQ is a great local BBQ place just off I-83 north of Baltimore. We had a nice lunch there, even saw Andy himself but he looks a little older than he did on my 1960 NFL football card! The restaurant hasn't been remolded...since that card still had the bubble gum smell but that's not why we went there. We went for the BBQ and were not disappointed. We ordered the pulled pork which was melt-in-your-mouth good and the brisket which was tender and juicy, too. Sides include mac and cheeses, of course, good cole slaw, beans, collard greens, you get the idea. You can sit inside among lots of old Colt memorabilia and restaurant guide testimonials or outside on picnic tables. Thee have a big catering business, too, and the restaurant was busy with lunchtime diners.More

I'm now living in Frederick. When I am back in the area I try to get here. Love their pit beef, stewed tomatoes, macncheese and collard greens. Corn bread and apple cake and more stewed tomatoes for carryout. On Friday the 13th I sat down...to enjoy my lunch. Great music as always playing. Two men were talking at the table next to me. It was Andy Nelson and a friend talking sports and THE Baltimore Colts. Born in 1954 I knew about the Greatest Game ever played by 5. The Colts will always be my team and John Unitas the GOAT. I introduced myself and they graciously involved me in their conversation, swapping stories with me for 10 minutes. Thank you Andy and your good friend. Best Christmas Gift of this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.More
