The food is fresh and tasty, but if you come here you better plan ahead. It took us ONE HOUR to get our food! Yes, the food is cooked to order, but this was entirely too long! Also, I had to ask our waitress three...times for our coke and ice tea before FINALLY getting it halfway through the meal! HORRIBLE service! The portions are smaller than other Indian restaurants in the area. The food is tasty and fresh. We ordered garlic naan (which was better than others), chicken tikka marsala (not as spicy as others and smaller portion), chicken tikka kabobs (mostly onions, not much meat, smaller portion than others). So, given the lackluster service and smaller portions, I don't understand such high ratings. I would give them one more try, but given it was a Friday night with only THREE tables, the service was below what diners should expect.More

We had an absolutely lovely evening this evening. We were warmly greeted by Mukan and seated at the table we requested. The menu is quite extensive. The staff is always ready to answer any and all of your question on the food. You can have...your food prepared with the exact amount of spice that you like. Our kids wanted to start with the Vegetable Samosa which are deep fried turnover stuffed with potatoes and green peas. The restaurant always starts you off with 3 different dipping sauces and a light interesting crispy wafer. We ordered one order of Naan (soft flour bread baked in a clay tandoor) which was enough for the 4 of us. My husband started with a garden salad with Italian dressing. His main course was lamb chops – there were 4 of them. He really liked the flavor and they were cooked perfectly. What he did not realize is that they came on a bed of onions and green peppers – two things he does not eat. Our daughter ate the onions and green pepper. My son-in law ordered the Lamb Kadai (boneless lamb cooked with tomatoes, onions, green peppers, ginger, garlic and cilantro). Our daughter had the Chicken Jalfrezi (boneless chicken cooked with garden vegetables and spices). I had the Lamb Seekh Kabob (ground lamb mixed with fresh Indian spices and skewered and then grilled in a clay oven.) It was quite impressive as it came out steaming on the platter. Each of our dishes was accompanied with basmati rice. We were all so pleased with our dinners. We especially like the BYOB with no corkage fee.More

What a delightful evening we had at the Royal Kitchen! It was fun for us to introduce our friends to this restaurant. We really wanted to go somewhere that was not noisy, and that is why we came here. The restaurant has a quiet and...serene ambience. We were warmly greeted by Anuma, who was also our server. She had a pleasing demeanor and was very attentive to our needs. We love the BYOB with no corkage fee policy. They start you off with 3 different kinds of dips and interesting crispy bread. For our appetizers, we enjoyed an order of Vegetable Samosa (2 deep fried turnovers stuffed with potatoes and green peas), Onion Bhajia (little spiced onion balls bound together in flagrant chickpea flour batter), and Fish Pakora (fish spiced and dipped in chickpea batter). We had some Naan bread to go with our dinners. For entrees, the guys enjoyed the Lamb Curry (boneless lamb cooked with onions, tomatoes and Nepal spices). I also savored the Lamb Korma (tender cubes of lamb cooked in cream sauce and nuts). Each of our dishes came in a traditional Indian copper food warmer called Angeethi. A sizzling plate of Lamb Seekh Kabob arrived at the table for our friend. It was so impressive. The dish is ground lamb mixed with fresh Indian spices and skewered to grill in a clay oven). We felt that all of our dishes were thoughtfully prepared, nicely presented, and loaded with flavor. Kamal, the owner, came over several times, which shows how much they care about their customers. Thank YouMore

Royal Kitchen is the best Indian Food I’ve had in the area, maybe even the region. Recommended by an couple we know from India and a work colleague, this hidden gem impressed us with quality and outstanding service. Tucked away in a stripe mall on...busy York Rd., the restaurant wasn’t much to see from the outside. But inside we had an unforgettable meal of Tikki Marsala Chicken and Lentil Soup. If you are in the mood for Indian Food this is definitely the best place in the area to go.More

A great Indian restaurant. I have been there many times and the food and service are always great. My favorites are the vegetable somosa's, chat papari, chicken kadai and kashmari naan.

We’ve been to Royal Kitchen three times and have had food delivered once. The food was good on these visits. Unfortunately, on our last visit the food dropped from 4/5 to 3/4. Service was barely a 2, which is unfortunate because this place has great...potential. Inconsistency in service will hold this restaurant back until the owner address it (but I fear that the waitress who has been providing the poor service is related to the owner) Some examples. We enter the restaurant. There are two people (one table having lunch. Yet, it takes 6 minutes for the waitress to greet and seat us. After seating us, she asks if we are having the buffet. We say no. She walks away. Wipes down another table and then returns with menus. The place is empty. Why not bring us our menu’s first….and then wipe down the table. 5-6 minutes pass…she returns to take our order. We eventually get our beverages. Forgets our order and asks us to repeat it. Three words: write it down. Trying to memorize orders is great, if you can remember them. If not, WRITE IT DOWN. Appetizer comes. No plates. No silverware. No napkins. No chutneys. Waitress disappears and eventually brings 2 of the 4 items. Samosas getting cold. Disappears and comes back with chutneys…and then our napkins. Samosas were very good. Entrees and naan arrive. Waitress proceeds to lights candle based food warmers and places our entrees on top of the warmers. She places the naan basket in between. Isn’t paying attention and it begins to light the paper lining of the basket on fire. Unreal. What was she thinking. Might be better to skip the candles (or at least put the bread basket to the side). Naan was extremely dry and lacked flavor. Rice was good. Curries were good but not as good as last two times. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Truly disappointed. We had high hopes for Royal Kitchen... but looks like Café Spice is going to be our go to place for Indian (last two meals at Café Spice were spot on). Probably won't dine at Royal Kitchen again back unless we hear they have hired experienced wait staff (but will probably still order their food using Door Dash or Grub Hub delivery service because the food is usually decent)More

Excellent. Loved that it was served in copper pans with lids and candles underneath to keep our dinners warm. Very good dehl tadkha and the best onion kulcha bread I've ever had! Crispy !

A few of us from the office stopped in for lunch on a Friday and enjoyed the ambience and food. I thought the selection of food was limited, not as many selections as other nearby Indian restaurants (ie. Café Spice). The food was good and...if you like goat, they serve it here. The lunch buffet cost $11.99, good value. I didn't taste anything exceptional, hence the 3 stars. The service is friendly and free parking out front of the small office/strip complex off York Road.More

It was Saturday and i had nothing to do so thought why not eat Indian. I came here again after a long while and i must admit the new cook is amazing. I tried their buffet and it has perhaps the largest buffet menu around....It included staples like chicken tangri (which i have never found tasting good in the USA), bhatura, dal tadka, chicken tikka masala, kadhi, chicken dum biryani, palak mushroom, chicken chili, chicken noodles, onion and spinach pakoras, fish pakora, steamed veggies, fried beans, bamboot shoot curry (i don't remember what they call it in Nepali), naan, etc. I didn't taste all the items because i just couldn't but whatever i had, it was cooked to perfection. Good amount of spices and salt. I will visit again sometime for their dinner menu. Best Wishes.More

I have been here a couple of times - once in late 2016 or early 2017 i don't exactly remember and we had a lunch buffet which we didn't like so we promised never to visit again. It's an Indian Nepali restaurant owned by a...Nepali person and serving both Nepali and Indian cuisine - primarily Indian. The service was nice and the people attending us were very courteous. The next time i visited was on 31st March for tea and snacks with wife and some friends. We had papads, pakoras, samosas and tea. The pakora was overcooked and the samosa almost burnt. The tea was bland. I yet again promised never to visit again. I hear the head chef has recently changed - he is from Mumbai, and i got to sample some of his preparations and i must say it tasted good. I am not sure if i will visit again but if they continue with this chef i just might. Nepalis are really nice people. I hope they improve on their food quality because the decor and hospitality is awesome anyways. I wish them luck.More
