Just enjoyed a WONDERFUL dinner to include Hearts of palm with shrimp salad and delicious Corvina fish dinner!!! This has got to be the best restaurant in Chey Chase if not MoCo!!! Thanks Duarte & staff for adjusting to carry-out during this trying time!!! You...More

Consistently excellent...food quality fresh, portion sizes generous, food prep creative and flavorful! Ambiance is white linen with plenty of table space that allows for easy conversation. Attentive wait staff makes each visit special. Loved the Barrada appetizer, the Durato and Mahi Mahi selections were terrific!

Sadly I didn’t taste anything real authentic this time. Was better a few years ago. With Portuguese family and frequent trips to Portugal I am used to the real thing. This restaurant has nice qualities and Portuguese pottery and tile but it needs to get...More

This is not our typical outing and the service was lovely and the food was good and the waiter helped us learn about each dish if we were not familiar with it. Well worth the trip.

If one can get past the fact that Tavira is in the basement of the Chevy Chase building (with no natural light and an artificial ambiance) and that most of the clientele is north of 60/70 years old, then one should really enjoy your meal...More

Best thing about Tavira is the quiet dining room: attractive Portuguese/Mediterranean decor; and comfortable seating. Next best: the menu is chock full of wonderful sounding dishes. Things are a little pricey, and some dishes had higher aspirations than they could fulfill (for instance, the Dorado...More
