Since it's hard to find high quality vegetarian sushi, a friend and I decided to splurge and go to Kobo for the vegan omikase, and it was superb. Attention was paid to every single detail. The chef explained each dish as he set it in front of us, and the presentation and taste were both spectacular. There wasn't a single... More

I had the lunch tasting menu, 25 bucks. Not outstandingly cheap but good quality. Very responsive service. Open 12-3pm if that helps you. Convenient parking with excellent deal.

My husband and I have always loved Sushi Ko. We were regulars at the Glover Park restaurant for years and were devastated when it closed. We moved over to Chevy Chase, but lately have been unhappy. First, we like sitting at the sushi bar, but that is no longer possible because they only serve the new Kobo "experience" there. I... More

This place was one of the pioneers of Japanese fine dining in the area. While there are now a lot of other options, it still has game. Food quality excellent, the cooked dishes were perfectly prepared and the sushi was excellent. (For some reason the sushi counter was not operating when we were there although place was packed). Problem is... More

My family of three thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Sushi Ko for lunch today. The ambience is pleasant and our waiter was most helpful and friendly. The scallops tempura were divine and the chef's special tuna, 6 ways was a fun and flavor filled choice. My son and husband both had the lunch special. Seaweed salad was outstanding as was the... More

As the son of restauranteurs having grown up in the sushi restaurant business for over 20 years I think I should have an understanding of what good sushi is. In my time, I have experienced many different sushi restaurants and worked with many sushi chefs (including ones from Japan). My experience tells me for the money their are much better... More

The restaurant is a block off of the bustling Wisconsin Avenue Friendships Heights shopping district. It is accessible easily by metro, and there is validated parking. The interior, with high ceilings, is tastefully decorated with large murals, floral arrangements and other artwork of Japan. The acoustics in the dining room were great for friendly conversation without need to lean in... More

We went for dinner during inauguration week and upon entering we were escorted to our table by the African American hostess and she asked us where we from. We told her and she answered that it had been a strange week seeing that most locals had gotten out of town and now there were people from all over the country... More

We have been going to Sushiko for years, decades really, since they were located in Glover Park. Though the creativity has ebbed and flowed depending on the chef, it has always been very solid and high quality. We lived in Japan for years, so are not sushi neophites. Some of our Japanese friends prefer other places where I don't think... More

This is an upscale restaurant that is great for a night when you don't mind breaking out the checkbook. But the sushi is certainly top notch, and they offer a pretty innovative selection of rolls for those who want something more than just a high-quality version of what you might find elsewhere. I would recommend this place for locals rather... More
