We stopped in for a late lunch while visiting Chestertown and started with Maryland Crab soup - lots of crab, vegetables and a little spicy - nice! Had a salad which was very fresh and included marinated mushrooms - very good. Our entree was the special - red fish with crab imperial which was very nicely done - loved it!... More

We love eating on the waterfront and The Fish Whistle has a great water view. You can eat out on the patio or inside if it's too hot or too cold outside. We liked having lunch there - casual atmosphere and food choices. We enjoyed our lunches - I loved the crab bisque and oyster caesar.

Nice meal in friendly surroundings. Of the four entrees chosen, Meatloaf was chosen by three, while I had the fried oysters. Everyone seemed quite pleased with their meatloaf selection, plentiful, good seasoning and cooked nicely but not dried out. The Fried Oysters were exceptional. Worth the visit, and very reasonably priced.

Such a great location but restaurant so poorly conceived and operated. Bar has a good atmosphere with several TVs but food in restaurant is barely mediocre. With the great views on the water it could be a top notch operation with opportunity to draw crowds from all over but fails miserably in almost all respects.

Ate here on a very busy Saturday evening. We had called ahead only about an hour before, but were seated before others who had been waiting. It took several minutes for our server to find us and she seemed quite distracted. Water was never refilled and we had to wait after eating for a check. However the food was served... More

The view is the best, you are sitting right on the river. The inside is worn, the benches covers are torn and taped, table was sticky and rocked. The food is a huge disappointment. The promised crab cake with all jumbo lump crab, no filler was filler with no noticeable jump lump. The drinks however were generously poured and served... More

The view from the Fish Whistle is unbeatable locally. And the wait staff is great and attentive, especially "Tea." However, the chef has a VERY heavy hand when it comes to spice and pepper. We've been there several times recently - and each time the dinner was slightly off due to this over-spicing. Creative combinations; just too hot. My most... More

I was visiting town on a college tour with my two teens and had gotten a referral for Fish Whistle. I was looking forward to good local grub to match the amazing view for myself and my two teens. It was clear from the start that they were understaffed with poor communication in the kitchen as customers sat eating and... More

Husband and I were visiting Chestertown along with a friend, and had dinner at the Fish Whistle. When we arrived, our reservation was not listed. This was a bad sign. We were seated and told that there were no menus and we had to wait. About 10 minutes later, we got menus. We waited a very long time for our... More

I am resorting to Trip Advisor after receiving no response to the following email I wrote to what I assumed was the owner of try restaurant: I wanted to touch base with you regarding two recent experiences we had at Fish Whistle so you are aware of the treatment your loyal customers are receiving. This is one of our favorite... More
