The location is great, right on the water! Outside bar and dining areas were great as well. The fish tacos are out of this world!

Nice place right on the canal. Sat on the covered porch and it was roomy and comfortable. Had a cup of Md crabsoup. Had very little crab taste and mostly tomatoes. Also had fried oysters and chicken salad entrée. I think they called it the Eastern Shore Platter. Oysters were well prepared but were kind of bland tasting. Told that... More

This is a nice place to eat. The service and the food were excellent. While sitting at the umbrella bar, we saw a huge car carrier ship come down the canal -- that was as added feature since it is right on the water.

It's always a pleasure to revisit the Bayard House. We came for lunch this week and were not disappointed. First we split a dozen oysters, cold, on ice and very large. I think they are from Virginia. Historic building in Chesapeake City. It's great to eat on the covered terrace with the C&D with the ships passing about 100 feet away. The also have a nice outdoor bar for drinks and food. Located for easy walking to all the shops in town. The food and service are very good, and the fried oysters are a favorite.

We stumbled into the Bayard Inn for dinner when we arrived somewhat late into Chesapeake City - and we're really glad we did! The setting is really pretty, as is the restaurant itself. It's the kind of place that is very nice, with truly excellent food - and could be stuffy but it's just so friendly that it's not at... More

Lots of history in this town and you can feel it as you dine in the Bayard House .. on the patio, the porch, or the dining room .. a feeling of a "mini Williamsburg"

The ambiance of this place is top notch with its serene historical terrace on the waterfront. We enjoyed the menu, especially the appetizers.
