Always a delightful place to dine. Great location on the water with nice views. Food is very good and the crab cakes are outstanding.

When we had out of state visitors they wanted a waterfront dining experience. This is a very nice restaurant. Good view of the canal. Food is always good and reliable. It is a pretty safe and classic menu but in 20 years as a patron have never had a bad experience,

We happened to be there for the prime rib special in the bar below the restaurant, excellent for the price.

Get the drunken mussels.....best mussels I have ever had! We stopped to have a light snack and drinks. We sat outside and were not disappointed.

Other than sitting right on the canal you peer over at Schaefers and wish you were there instead. Umbrella bar is fun. Had the stuffed Anaheim peppers, there were these white opaque blobs in it, like it was filler mixed in with the cheapest crab you can buy as the 'stuffing'. I was turned off, couldn't even eat the veggies... More

Wow. Sit on the patio by the water. We had beef filet eggs Benedict and croissant french toast. Everything was excellent and cooked perfectly. Order the bloody Marys with shrimp. Nice and spicy.

Had our first dinner at Bayard House and it will not be our last. Great view of the canal and the food was excellent. We are already planning birthday dinners there next month. The bar downstairs, The Hole in the Wall, was a quaint little place to hang out after dinner.

We had a lovely meal here. We sat under the awning out back, looking over the canal. It was a brilliantly sunny and warm day, but under the awning it was breezy and cool--fantastic and refreshing. Unsweetened ice tea hit the spot. Oysters were perfect, hubby had rockfish and I had a salad with blackened salmon. So good, all cooked... More

Stopped for lunch on a hot July day - sat outside on the waterfront under the enclosed porch area. Lovely. Fantastic lunch - I had a tasty chicken sandwich on ciabatta and my husband had the steak and shrimp quesadillas - fantastic. Opted for this over the crowded Chesapeake Inn. Much better choice - great food without the chaos, crowds... More
