This is a great stop on your way to somewhere else. It is an old time tavern that is mainly a Crabhouse. The beer is always cold and while the crabs are a little higher price than other locations in the area, not enough to...More

Food was pretty good. We shared a seafood sampler. Coleslaw was horrible. I think it was going bad. Waitress asked if I wanted change back when I paid her. Most unprofessional thing to ask a customer in my opinion.

Our visit to Chesapeake City Maryland, my sanctuary, lead us to try the hometown "Tap Room". I'm so glad, after several years of visiting, I decided to order something. Of coarse Crabs are always served. I prefer my crabs in the form of a crab...More

This place is amazing because you can get crabs all year round and eat them on paper covered tables. The beer is cold and the waitresses are attentive and friendly. We come here every time we're in the area. It is cash only but there...More

Popped into the Tap Room for lunch recently and had a heaping plateful of the best fried clams I ever tasted! My friend had the crab soup (she frequents the Tap Room and has always loved their crab soup) and we both enjoyed our meals...More

The Tap Room is anything but fancy, but it doesn't want to be. It's fun and welcoming and we encountered several locals who were more than happy to chat about the town and their experiences. It's the kind of place that you feel like you...More

Very very good. This place has a plain atmosphere but absolutely delicious food. We had an amazing shrimp sautéed in garlic, herbs, butter & white wine appetizer, creamy fisherman's chowder (with crab, shrimp & clams), snow crab clusters, linguini with shrimp in a similar white...More

Having a yen for seafood while in Chesapeake City my husband, daughter and son-in-law headed to The Taproom. We originally thought of crabs but opted for fried oysters and crab cakes which came accompanied with bay fries and Cole slaw. Good choices since crabs weren't...More

Call ahead if you're interested in crabs and ask for what sizes. We called and they had large crabs from Texas. Upon arriving, sat in the bar area. Smell was great. Crabs steamed and coated with seasoning. Order the fries as well and begin the...More

I've been back to the Taproom a few times recently and have found the place to be a relaxed environment with pretty good food. Service was good and prices reasonable. The clientele is friendly.

Absolutely, they're completely kid friendly. My daughter has been eating there since she was a toddler. The Tap Room is a full service restaurant. Children are fine, they just can not sit at the bar (per MD law).
