We come every year to Cambridge and the culinary highlight is always Sunday Tapas. Their crab cakes are out of this world and the corn pudding is fabulous. Their French onion soup is classically prepared and their goat cheese salad was delicious. We are already looking forward to next year.

Best choice in Cambridge! Casual with very attentive service and an excellent menu. In the land of all things "crab", they of course feature options which are also prepared and presented extremely well. Good reasonably priced wine options as well. Highly recommended for couples & small groups looking for a fine dining experience

We had been here several times for both lunch and dinner, but never for the Sun night tapas. Highly recommemd bringing at least a foursome, so as to be able to sample as many tapas as possible. We started w/the goat cheese and mixed green salad- dressing was fabulous. We then shared crab thai salad, crabcake, scallops (mmm!), haricot verts... More

We have been here a few times before, but this was our first time experiencing the Sunday tapas menu. The experience convinced me that I do not like tapas inv restaurants, because restaurants are interested in maximizing the revenue rather than provide the customer with recommendations for a good balanced dinner. Aside from the salad, which was ordinary, the other... More

When this restaurant opened over 10 years ago, I was very skeptical that a gourmet restaurant would succeed. WAS I WRONG ! We now make it a point to visit here at least monthly, because BISTRO POPLAR IS THAT GOOD. The Parisien ambiance, the attentive service, and the variety of superb cuisine which is prepared by the owner/chef, trained at... More

This charming French restaurant met our expectations of a high-quality dinner in a quaint atmosphere which their French background music enhanced. My wife enjoyed Roasted Pork Tenderloin Au Poivre with Sauteed Asparagus. I savored Pan-Roasted Salmon with Lyonnaise Potatoes and Dill-Butter. I had a creamy asparagus bisque before my main course. We both enjoyed a glass of a pinot noir... More

Wonderful Sunday Tapas dinner. We had sautéed sow peas, seared tuna, escargot, lamb and delicious hot bread. All washed down with a lovely sparkling wine. Dessert was a strawberry pastry. Excellent service. Small, informal restaurant. Definitely be back next time we are in Cambridge.

I did not expect to find a restaurant of this caliber in Cambridge. We had a wonderful dining experience in Bistro Poplar. The atmosphere is intimate, the service attentive and the cuisine well prepared. The tuna was delicious and the salmon well prepared as well. The lamb was also prepared excellent and just right. Appetizers included the pate' with toast... More

Have to say I was a bit disappointed with Bistro Poplar after reading all the excellent reviews. Went there for first time recently and expected a high level of cuisine based on their high prices. All the wines were good and definitely the stand out along with the pate appetizer but my fried oysters at $16 bucks weren't quite as... More
