Our weekend escape from COVID-19

We stopped here for dinner after visiting the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. We were staying down the road the Comfort Inn and noticed that they had outside dining set-up. I had the Chicken Caesar Salad, which came with a lot of chicken and too many croutons mixed in, but it was good overall. My son had the spaghetti and meatballs, way to much spaghetti and the meatballs were over cooked. My wife had the BLT and said the bacon was overcook also but then she also had a bit of a fried oyster that ended up on her sandwich which really turned her off. The fries she had were good and the coleslaw was OK. The waitstaff was friendly and took some money off the bill for the BLT issue.

Terrific diner

We stopped for lunch, and I had a corned beef sandwich on rye with chicken noodle soup, and my wife had vegetable soup with the salad bar. The food was excellent. The salad bar was clean and fresh, and all the soups are house-made. The place is spotlessly clean, and service was excellent. We'll defintiely stop here again the next time we're passing through Cambridge.

Stopped for dinner and the menu was typical diner food and the meal was very good. Philly Cheese steak and a turkey platter. Service was great. We stopped for breakfast the next morning and it was not good. First there are no cereals, muffins or bagels on the menu. Strange! Ther chipped beef on toast was a mass of tasteless gravy with little chipped beef. My pancakes were burned on one side. Breakfast was a D and poor. Nice people and good service but breakfast needs some work.

Dinner Disappointment

My first time visiting this local place. The takeout turkey, mashed potatoes and French onion soup were well below average and not tasty. I tried a portion of it and threw the rest in the rubbish.

Great Ham & Cheese Omelet

I arrived shortly after 6am on a cold February morning. No other diners had yet arrived. I ordered a black coffee and a ham & cheese omelt with American cheese and wheat toast. The ham is cooked into the egg. It's a good quality ham, and the egg was not overcooked. The omelet was foled in half. The hashbrowns were in the shredded Waffle House style and perfectly cooked. This was the best ham & cheese omelet I've ever had. The texture, ham saltiness and amount of cheese was perfect. Couple that with the hashbrowns (very few Waffle House restaurants in eastern Maryland) and it was a great meal.

Friendly diner with great values

We had lunch and the service was efficient and friendly. My husband had a senior meal that was a lot of food for the price, including a salad and ice cream with his meal. I had a Rueben that was good but could have been toasted more. I also got a salad along with the sandwich, fries and coleslaw. The fries were really good and we got our salads at the salad bar, which was nice. It wasn’t fancy but was good food at a good price. Our waitress checked on us multiple times and always with a smile. We would definitely go back the next time we’re in Cambridge.

Best Vegetarian Omelet

The vegetarian omelet was the best I've had in a long, long time. Moist, but with crispy veggies. It was better than vegetarian omelets I've had at IHOP and Denny's. The hash browns that came with it were crispy and tasty, too. The only thing I didn't like was what passed for "butter" for the toast. It was something called Land O' Lakes "Fresh Buttery Taste Spread" that is "48% vegetable oil spread." Translation: Margarine. Margarine is no substitute for real butter.

Stop on the way into Ocean City

We stopped here for breakfast on our way into Ocean City. The place was fairly crowded as it was the end of Bike Week. The kitchen was backed up so it took quite a while for us to get our breakfast. Cheyenne was a very good waitress. She kept checking in with us and letting us know our meal should be out shortly. The food was fine. My only complaint is that I ordered scrambled eggs and I got over-easy eggs. I didn't complain or send them back since it had taken so long for us to get our meal in the first place and I didn't want to wait any longer.

Temporary outside delicious dining!

Enjoyed delicious soft shell crab sandwich and Florentino/feta cheese white omelet meals. Outside seating was fine as it was perfect weather. Our servers gave caring service as Maryland continues to open up from Covid-19 pandemic. Kudos to staff for creating an outdoor space while providing great meals for both locals & travelers. Thank you, we plan to return!

Seen it many times, sorry I didn't stop earlier!!!!

A typical Mom & Pop just off the highway. LOTS of traffic goes by 50 yds away on Rt 50 toward O.C. Service and seating were quick. large menu w/ daily specials. I had meatloaf, mashed and green beans....I got a pound of meatloaf and a mountain of potatoes and beans. Simply couldn't eat it all!! Wife had a similar meal - gigantic servings! Friend had a breakfast-for-lunch lunch. Total for three full meals ..about $45. It is a little tricky to get into as it does NOT have direct highway access, You must turn at the nearest light to get to the service road it lives on. WELL worth the effort!!!!

Flies

My daughters and I ate lunch at the diner on 6/28/22. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The problem was the flies. As soon as our appetizer arrived, multiple flies swarmed the table. We were constantly having to shoo them away. When our meals arrived, it got worse. I asked for to go containers. As I was eating the leftovers at home, I found a hair in my food.

Good place for breakfast

Good place for breakfast however my friend was disappointed to learn French toast would be made with regular white bread. No brioche. So opted for pancakes instead. Service was fast and reliable and food came out fairly quick.

Server was friendly and efficient, kitchen was quick, as most diners are. The food sounded good but wasn't. Crabcakes (in this known seafood region) were brown, mushy, flavorless. They forgot to serve the housemade slaw and I didn't ask. The greens in the salad bar were limp, broccoli overcooked to point of galling apart. Fried flounder and french fries were straightforward and okay. Prices were restaurant, not dive bar. We won't be back.

Second choice was great

We try to eat at local places when we travel and not eat at the hotel we stay at. We were going to go to Kay’s at the airport but it was closed. Found this gem on our way back and glad we did. We both had delicious omelets, coffee was good and fast service. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff!

A Great Diner

Very nice-- great meatloaf, very homey, diner food done very well. Fantastic meal with starter was only $50, great for this area. I'd go back. Obviously a popular place with the locals as well, a nice family and community vibe.
