This is primarily a bar (fairly lively one) that I thought was a sandwich place. The name misled me. It worked out ok as they had a late night menu with BLT on it. It was a good sandwich.

This place is an authentic local bar. The beer on tap selection is good, and they have food with a limited menu that is available until very late. I think they close at 2:00. So, a good place to go if you want a late night drink and some basic bar food. Crowd was friendly enough, bartenders kept your glass... More

Stopped in the Barking Dog for lunch - first time in a while. The burger was ok, but had a seasoning that didn't sit well with me. There are plenty of other menu items to try and perhaps a cold beer will help.

public parking right next door was a big plus. service was fast and friendly. Good selection of beer and one of the better burgers I've had in a long time. If I lived closer to it, I would be there all the time

I walked here from the Residence Inn and I was glad that I did. I got a recommendation from another couple at the hotel so I figured what the heck. I was happy that this was my type of place with a good selection of beer, especially a number of craft beers from the area. Owen was the bartender the... More

Ate dinner here one evening while staying in Bethesda. The service was good. Food was fine. Its a fun place to have a typical bar type meal. No complaints.

Good: Easy walk from Residence Inn Bethesda. Nice staff. Not overly crowded when we went at 730 p on a Fri. night. Has more draft beer selection than an average Budweiser bar. Food as expected at a bar - adequate but you wouldn't go there for the food. The black bean burger was fine, the hamburger with avocado was good... More

It's a dive, it's music and various food choices are random, but I like it. Not pretentious like most things in Bethesda. It's like putting on a comfortable pair of shoes.

Today's experience wasn't that great. There was a faint smell of someone losing their cookies and not enough pine sol being used to clean it up or perhaps it was still fresh from an over-indulging customer. It's a fixable problem so I don't think it would be the norm. The service was great, the beers were cold and they had... More
