In an age where all restaurants begin to look the same, and old favorites somehow seem tired, this local institution gives us hope! Recommended by a friend who said he and his wife always make time to come here when they come to Washington, we were not disappointed. The "chef" waiting outside to greet us was thought curious by our... More

Christmas Eve dinner - perfect. From the velvety mushroom soup followed by a gorgeous presentation of lobster, not to be forgotten, ending with the blood orange soufflé with just the right amount of chocolate ice cream. Everything was five star -- the service impeccable, the warmth in atmosphere, and, of course, the food, can't wait for New Year's Eve --... More

This restaurant has been in Bethesda for a long time and the reason is consistently well prepared meals. It is small and quiet a great break from the noisy large restaurants that seem to be popular.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food in this restaurant. On the outside, the quirky decor made me think that this would be a tourist trap. On the contrary, it was excellent and high quality. We are French so we always look for good French restaurants when we travel and we were not disappointed. The scallops and... More

We went with some out of town friends here and really enjoyed the evening. The food and service were excellent. It's a great local Bethesda place that takes you to Paris for the night.

Talented Chef, and new owner, Gautrois is winding up his second year creating culinary treats for his customers and friends at Le Vieux Logis. Starting in mid-October LVL now offers lunch on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and it should be noted there is complimentary valet parking in the evening. On a recent visit the White Sea Bass was exquisite, absolutely... More

This local bistro with a very good reputation is in drastic need of renovation on all fronts. From its camp "Frenchie"" murals to its cluttered overstuffed interior, you would think after 30 or how many years the owners would spruce things up? Same applies to the menu. The prices surpass the quality and creative effort devoted to the food. Even... More

This is a gem of a restaurant. The saff has been there for years and a recent change of ownership has come about seamlessly. The food is high quality and the preparation commensurate with the raw ingredients. It is a "comfort restaurant" offering "comfort food".

An all around very good French restaurant slightly off the beaten path In Bethesda. The owners are directly involved in all aspects of the restaurant. My mother loves to take my son to this restaurant to order his favorite meal--duck. They all make a big fuss over him and so this restaurant has become quite special to us.
