My friends/director brought me here for dinner, and it was phenomenal. They lived in Bethesda forever and said this was the place to go. So we went- and the service(considering we had a party of 10) was sublime. Stress free and appetizers and entrees were fired at perfect timing. Of course the food was worth writing home about and whipping... More

My wife and I have just enjoyed an incredible meal at Le Vieux Logis to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We both enjoyed a salmon entree that we agree is perhaps the most perfectly prepared salmon that either of us has ever eaten, and that is saying a lot for a couple who has dined extensively on fish the world over.... Perhaps, my expectations for this highly rated place were too high, but the food was good, though not outstanding. The atmosphere was nice, but not exclusive. The place is slightly shabby, though pretty quiet and it would be a nice choice for having a conversation. The prices are pretty high. If overall the price range listed is $30-$70, for $30... More

I had been to this restaurant a few times many years ago and remembered it fondly. I returned recently during restaurant week and ordered from the special prix fixe menu, as did the other three people in my group. My wife was very pleased with her salmon and the delicious vegetables that accompanied it. The other couple both ordered the... More

Recently a local family challenged themselves to eat in each and every Bethesda restaurant in a year's time. Their takeaway: the adults decided that Le Veiux Logis was the best restaurant in Bethesda. So we decided to check out that gaily painted restaurant we've been walking and driving by for decades. Inside the restaurant is cozy with banquette seating at... More

Haven't been back to this restaurant for a long while, often driving by the street it is on. It remains one of the stand-outs in the Bethesda dining scene, while newer places open and close. Came for Bethesda restaurant week. Was awed by the exquisite taste of the appetizer: shrimps "Kadafi", roasted eggplant caviar with a gazpacho sauce. Best dish... More

We were a party of 10 with a reservation. We were seated immediately when we arrived. My charcuterie plate was excellent. Others enjoyed the beet salad, bisque and traditional Caesar salad. The beef tartar was very good. All main courses were good except the soft shell crab Almondine. Very bland....menu said ginger....could not taste it at all. Only one had... More

We returned to Le vieux logis with Kate Marwan zeina and Neyla and it was as good. Ann and Kate had streak sliced and rare. Marwan and I had Dover sole which was great. The only down side was the wine recommended by our server was not so good. Ann felt it was harsh and she has the best palate... More

It's like going back a few decades. They haven't grown with the times. There's French and then there's modern healthy French - more like Mediterranean French. It might be a thought for them to make some changes and update their menu.
