I was walking by La Madeleine and saw all the deserts through the window. The fruit tart caught my eye. When I went in I saw it was only $4.99 I normally pay more for a tart of that size. The taste was fantastic. All the bake goods looked good there.

I like the name, Madeleine! The place is dirty, especially the floor, the staff is not enchanted. The croissants are okay. They serve a full breakfast which I didn't have and I would not have since it's not that clean. I just bought some croissants for my walk to DC.

I like the cakes they serve, the cheesecake is out of this world. I love the sacher torte, but with any cake, make sure they serve it out of the window display. The ones I've received from their fridge is not fresh and kind of hard. The coconut cake is really good too.

I remember going here in Texas as a kid. Rarely do I go now unless I'm in a city and need a nearby breakfast spot outside a hotel. Tada! In Bethesda, staying in a friends apartment, no time to go to grocery yet. This is an example of a concept that should have had legs. I met the founder and... More

This French inspired bakery offers a wide variety of delicious dishes, cakes, fruits and more. I always visit this place when in Betheda. Highly recommended

Came back again with a friend and had relatively high expectations. The food met our expectations and the ambiance was also pretty good, but the person at the counter (who takes your order and money) was indifferent at best. We just wanted to have a cup of coffee before our meal, but he would not let us have cups to... More

The quirky part was that none of the staff seemed interested in being waitstaff or doing much of anything; however an elderly man (owner?) made a special effort to bring me a glass of water on its own saucer. But the pastry on our quiches was excellent and the bottle of rose we shared helped make the lunch very enjoyable.... More

Perhaps we were unlucky with the items we chose but this restaurant was not at all good. Food was bland. Little to no taste. We will not be eating there again. Sorry.

The menu is not extensive, but the experience is good. Kind of a French fast food place only better. I eat here every time I'm in DC if my schedule allows.

Three of us went here for lunch and we all enjoyed our meal. My mediterranean salad with Chicken was delicious. One person was a vegetarian and she loved her spinach pochette. A nice break from chain food.
