Four of us went to Grapeseed in Bethesda last evening, an upscale American restaurant with wine bar. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! We requested a quiet table away from the bar so we could hear, and they were very helpful seating us. We were surprised that there were a lot of empty tables, because it was a Friday night at... Visited this restaurant on a Monday night and wasn't very busy! I was with a group of 10 and the food and service were excellent!

The avocado toast with pulled pork appetizer was a big hit with me. Liked the different flavors pulled together. But their version of shrimps 'n grits missed the mark altogether. Thought it was too heavy on the tomato side; also a bit too soupy. Lenore, my server, however, was just a big hit. She was such a happy and enthusiastic... More

We hadn't been to Grapeseed in a while and this visit was a winner for all in our group. From the appetizers polenta, oysters, sorrel soup and grilled ceasar salad to the main courses, scallops, seabass, steak and chicken everyone was impressed. The ingredients were fresh and beautifully prepared and presented. Only one of us had wine that evening, but... More

We were at Grapeseed for dinner and another time for a wine tasting. For the tasting, the wine was of interest but the food items were lackluster, insufficient and in some cases quite salty. We have been getting email announcements of various dinners and haven't been tempted to return. Our last dinner was disappointing on all fronts and definitely not... More

My husband and I had dinner during restaurant week. I had the calamari appetizer, the sunchoke soup, and the brick chicken with a glass of wine. My husband had the salmon. Everything was very tasty and our waitstaff was very knowledgeable. We had a wonderful night out. I've always liked Grapeseed and it's good to know that they can still... More

Grapeseed use to be better. We had a very mixed experience tonight. Restaurant week menu was good but most items had an upcharge. Food was quite good except for my rib-eye. It came out way over cooked. It was replaced with a new one cooked perfectly. Unfortunately it was the thinnest rib-eye I have ever had. The evening would have... More

Went to Grape Seed restaurant on one of the "restaurant week” evening, on January 29, 2016. Over all: Food was marginal; served in small portions, and nothing was special at all. The Server was polite. Special points - events: 1) An appetizer 'grilled Octopus': was tasty, but excessively salty. Small portion. Want to hear more FUN?: 2) At half way... More

We reserved the wine room for my 50th birthday dinner. The food was good to very good, the service pretty good, but the ambiance was lacking. There was one measly candle on the table and inexpensive metal chairs. There is a food & beverage minimum for the wine room and I was expecting really good service and a pretty room.... More

We used to enjoy Grapeseed when we lived in the DC area. Hence, while visiting recently, we decided to try it again. We arrived a little before our reservation time and decided to sit at the bar and have a glass of wine and an appetizer. Very disappointing!! Poor service, unremarkable wine choices and cold gnocchi. The restaurant was empty... More

Grapeseed American Bistro is a casual bistro that matches great food and wine together. With anywhere from 80 to 100 wines by the glass and approximately 325 bottle listed, we cater to the novice wine lover and to the experienced. We start with a bottle of wine and pick out the characteristics and nuances of the wine and then award winning Chef Jeffrey Heineman creates a menu item to highlight the flavors of the wine. So come in and relax, have a taste or a glass of wine and try something on our ever-changing menu.
