As more South Americans venture north with their cooking traditions and ingredients in hand, North Americans are getting the chance to sample these new foods and flavors. THE PARVA RESTAURANT BAR & LOUNGE has the Nuevo Latino cuisine as one example of the global gastronomic exchange that happens today, a fusion of traditional Latin flavors with global food trends. The rest of the world has become interested in the cuisines of South America, and new combinations will emerge. But the time-honored culinary traditions of Latin America remain intact. If you have not explored them already, new or old, don't miss out. You will fall in love with South American food. Our Chef now showcase Andean products such as alpaca meat, grains like quinoa and kiwicha, and unusual tubers such as yuca and maca in sophisticated new ways.

Charming and interesting quality food

Friendly staff and quality South American style food, especially fishes, ceviches, and drinks. Good for a group or family or couple.

Parva offers a good happy hour of attractively priced drinks and small plates. Their entrees are not quite as successful; the loma saltado, for instance, lacked a deep savory beef flavor which this dish at its best has.

Food was great, the service wonderful, and the tequila list was entirely satisfactory. The only thing possibly lacking was a better selection of mezcals - there were only two of which one was the highly questionable Monte Alban…. Would highly recommend this place and look forward to returning!

Much like the title, this was a good place to go when on your own traveling for business. The Happy Hour was great pricing. Henry Loco Margarita was great as well as the tacos. The shredded beef taco had more flavor then you would experience at an upscale place. The bartender even bought a beverage for three patrons celebrating a... More

This was our first time at Parva. The menu is a mix of South American, Mexican, and Caribbean items. Service is friendly and quick, to bring menus to the table and take our drink and food orders. There was a wait for the food, but understandably so as each order is custom-made, and the wait is worthwhile. I had cheviche... More

We walked down from our hotel. The restaurant is downstairs with a club upstairs. The owner seemed really nice and made suggestions and helped us with our order. We Luv the sides we got chorizos, salmon, veggies and plantain. My husband got fajitas which could have had more seasoning. I ordered a pitcher of mango mojitos which was delicious and... More

We loved to try different cuisine and in our bid to find another new place we located this one. We visited this place and loved the food. The staff were very pleasant. We tried the Puerco al Plato, fajitas and another dish with prawns wrapped in bacon...all of them were really great!! I guess the place is undergoing some changes... More

1 waitress, probably 1 cook, very slow service. Food was OK, but have better Peruvian food in the area. Parking was not bad that evening, but generally a problem in that area.

Not worth it. Much better Peruvian food available in Rockville or Wheaten. Because it's in Bethesda, it's overpriced. Worse, the food is OK at best. Won't go back.

My husband and I picked this place to go to in order to celebrate my birthday a couple of days early. We got there around 5pm on a Saturday night and the place was empty, but slowly started to pick up after we got there. The service was quick, the food came out hot and everything we tried was absolutely... More
