All dishes had too much sugar. Perhaps cook has sweet tooth. The steamed flounder was quite tender, but bland. The small soup dumplings were ok. But permeating the experience was miserable service. Staff were humorless. Waitress hovered over our table, reaching in to remove dishes,...finished or not, when she thought we had eaten enough. The dour waitress must have been in a hurry to get someplace more important, because she brought our bill while we were still eating the main course. Even if the food had been good, dinner at Wong Dynasty would still be unpleasant.More

Delicious food, polite servers, relaxed but not unrefined ambience. I visit Maryland once a month, and I always look forward to eating here.

Heard it was good from a friend, so we decided to try it. Dishes were flavorless and drownng in bland sauce. Portion size was on small side but ok. Noodles were acceptable. Spare Ribs were awful, tough not fresh. Took the space once occupied by...Shanghai Village. Doesn't even come close however. Simply no need to return. None of us like it.More

I seldom to write review. This restaurant rip off everybody. And foods are way too much chemical and coloring. Will find some where else to dine out. At least it is decent.

Friends told us good things about Wang. We got shrimp with walnuts which was plated beautifully. Shrimp in the center surrounded by broccoli. Shrimp were large, walnuts crunchy but the broccoli was room temperature. Tasty dish would have been a lot better with hot veg....Second dish was eggplant with tofu. Eggplant was so hot (temperature not spice) that it was hard to eat. But that's a good thing as far as we're concerned. Problem with this dish was that the tofu was tough. Prices were reasonable, portions large. We saw many other things to try.More

Imagine a cold and dreary January evening--transformed by a pleasant, comfy, welcoming place with great warming food (and people), My husband and I just discovered this place, next to our very favorite bike shop (Griffin's). We have been three times and have savored their egg...drop soup, hot and sour soup, chicken with peanuts, pork fried rice, stir-fried spinach, and whole fish on a platter. The food is tasty and NOT over salted or drowning in soy sauce. Fresh ingredients, cooked nicely. Yum. Now we'll be doing a two-fer (bike shop, Chinese food) every chance we get.More

Lunch with old friends, my first visit to Wang. My egg drop soup was not quite up to par (not quite warm enough to start with), the shredded pork was ok, the eggplant dish very tasty, so the food was not consistent. The rice was...not particularly warm, either. One of my companions did have tasty tofu, though. Service ok, but a bit disjointed.More

My wife was looking on Facebook for Michael's Noodles and found the new name new location restaurant near to our hotel when we visit DC. The owner is one of the friendliest and remembered us from the other location. The food comes out fresh and...hot and the best noodles anywhere we've been. The atmosphere is very quiet and cozy, can't wait to return for more food.More

We were regulars at the now closed Michael's Noodle House we were happy to learn that the same folks opened a new restaurant in Bethesda. We were not disappointed. The food was great the service friendly and efficient. We tried several menu items and all...were excellent. Give this place a try, you will be pkeased.More

With high anticipation, we headed Sunday noon to our favorite restaurant in Bethesda and were shocked upon arrival to find that the Penang Restaurant had closed permanently. Quite distraught, we entered the restaurant next door. The Wang Dynasty Bethesda 王朝御膳 on 4929 Bethesda Avenue features...Taiwanese cuisine and (on weekends) northern Chinese Dim Sum. The dining hall was clean and has good ambience though its acoustics can use some improvement. The selections we made from Its menu turned out to be quite good. Specifically, the Scallion pancake 蔥油餅 and Chive Pocket 韭菜盒子 were tasty, among the best we’ve had in this area. The use of the famous Hsinchu 新竹 rice noodle in the Taiwanese rice noodles dish 台式炒米粉 contributed to the tastiness of the dish. Also, we liked the Hot Sauce Style Tofu dish 水煮系列豆腐 and the Double Cooked Style Fish 四鍋系列魚, supposedly Halibut. The food was good and we are tempted to return to enjoy more despite the distance of the restaurant from our home.More

Wang Dynasty opened in May in a small strip mall on Bethesda Ave. It clearly has developed a great following already as it is tough to get a table one weekend evenings. The food is authentic and wonderful, the menu is HUGE... the staff is...warm and friendly. Any fan of the now closed Michael's Noodles will be happy to find this place and enjoy old favorites and make new ones.More
