First the food. Paella negra was fabulous. Rice was not dry as it could be sometimes. Reasonably priced riojas. And, service... One person in our party used a wheelchair, which was made known when reservation was made. The minute we entered the restaurant and the wheelchair was noticed by the staff, they immediately addressed us by name. We appreciated that... More

Service was great. Friendly and helpful. Food was good. Not exceptional but good. Decor however was awful. Lacked atmosphere. Could be so much better. But will still return to give it a second opinion.

In all fairness, we asked if we could eat at bar since they had a full house and were told yes. I do not think they usually do this. They needed more help my far on the night we were there. Waited 25 minutes for 1st drink of water or other. waitress/ probably owner very sweet but simply too rushed... More

Came here with girlfriends to celebrate a birthday on a cold February evening. We received a warm welcome, and a table tucked in the back near the bar. The menu had many wonderful choices, our server was attentive and professional, the sangria was perfect. And the prices so, so reasonable. Can't wait to go back!

Making last-minute plans during restaurant week, I found Guardado's had an opening (the first restaurants I checked were booked). What a lucky find! It's the kind of restaurant I adore: unassuming, friendly, comfortable. Our waiter -- I wish I had his name! -- was terrific. So kind, helpful, and prompt. My date and I split our dinners -- I had... This is a neighborhood gem in Bethesda, where I generally find over-priced and just average restaurants. The food is interesting and moderately priced. The service is attentive and friendly. It'd definitely worth trying it out. I like the croquetas and the sauteed spinach is really good.

What a great selection for DC restaurant week! Between the three of us, we were able to sample a good portion of the menu selection and one paella dish. The stuffed peppers are fabulous! The chorizo is quite flavorful. But you have to order the mussels plate. They come mounded - almost enough for a main course. The seafood paella... More

We picked this place during restaurant week. Looking for a new place and decided to take a chance. Had no expectations other than trying something new. We were very pleased with our visit. The staff is warm and helpful. It is a casual setting. The food was very good. We started mushroom soup and a salad. Both were well prepared... More

Three of us tried the $24 anniversary dinner special (soup or salad, 3 tapas, dessert). The ceviche and sautéed spinach salads were outstanding. But the mango salad lacked much in the way of mangos. The chorizo, calamares, lobster soup, croquetas, and lamb chops were uninspiring to mediocre. Flan and tre leches were good deserts. Service was good except they brought... More

I was working late on a work trip and needed something simple, fast, tasty, and healthy after a workout. I stopped in here and ordered three tapas. Chicken, calamari, and salmon and a glass of wine. They were delicious and I left satiated. The food tasted fresh and well prepared. $30 and I was happy - will probably return tomorrow... More
